    Annual bonuses for Thai employees...

If one has employees in Thailand, what is the traditional/natural time of the year to payout bonuses for good performance?

    is it Songkran?
or in January, after formally closing the year?
    another date?

Employees get their bonus in time to spend it for New Year...

The usual bonus is one months salary and is given either at the end of December or during that month.

Not surprisingly there are lots of people who quit their jobs in January!

I've never heard of anyone getting their annual bonus at Songkran.

Bonuses aren't usually awarded for 'good performance.' Everyone gets them and they are assumed to be a part of your salary.

      what he said.
They are normally given in December and for Thai companies equal to one months wages.
Some western companies do not give a whole months wages, since they pay much better on a monthly basis.

        thanks!

I thought as much, I mean, that the boni should be paid before the end of the year, but I didn't know which calendar to follow! Thai or western.
