  • Baht bus code

Was chatting to a bloke in a bar on Saturday night, and he mentiond the baht bus to Jomtien and how you recognise it. Most of the guys who stay/live here, usually get it from the junction on 2nd road, or jump on one that is obviously going Jomtiem direction.

But what if you are further up Pattaya Tai, or Beach road, how can you tell which bus will turn off to Jomtien. Well according to the guy, all the buses with a white stripe at the bottom of the door go to Jomtien.

I stood at the junction today for a few mins to check this out. All the buses with a white stripe did turn for Jomtien, as did some with no stripe.

Not sure how accurate this is, has anyone else heard of this.

Here is a pic to illustrate the difference

On my opinion I would like to know, how much I have to pay from WS to Soi Yamato. Some Drivers told me 150 baht. I can't believe this.

10 baht, just jump on, don't talk or look at the driver, when you get to your destination, just ring the bell, get off, hand him/her the 10 baht and walk away. Again don't talk to driver.

If you ask for a specific destination the price becomes negotiable and can start from the outrageous, like 150 Baht, depending on the distance. Dieter the Baht bus price for Thais, is 5 Baht, I think. There is a request to increase the Baht bus fares.
