Anyone know good motorbike classifieds in LOS?

Hi All,

I am arriving in LOS next Tuesday and am there for three weeks. Since this is going to be a bi-monthly thing for me I want to buy a big bore motorbike.

The plan is to find one in Patts or BKK and ride down to Phuket the following week. (I have done the ride up from Singapore in the past... excellent!)

1. Does anyone know a good online clasified service? I am using Baht and Sold which is good, but want to cover the bases.
2. Failing that, does anyone ride bikes on this forum that lives in LOS, and can reccomend a good bike shop?

I should find a good bike and head to BKK by the 8th, then from BKK to Phuket.

Am planning to get one of those mini-laptops. (knee top?) and will keep ewes all posted.

This bike shop on the outskirts of bangkok has good selection of new and used.

There are also a couple of big bike shops in the RCA nightclub street, harley dealer and sports bikes.

Many thanks for the help. I have been to Red barron, good shop but the owner doesn't know there is an economic melt down on... very expensive!

Anyhow, I have found a couple on Bhat and Sold, and in both instances the vendors offered to drag me around bike shops in Patts if their bike wasn't to my liking... its hard to beat expat hospitality.

2 Harley agents in Pattaya. One owned operated by a UK guy called Lee.
Located behind Big C South on Sukummvit just beyond Pattaya Tai.
Many Harley groups in the area so probably a good place to get some contacts.
I did hear of a 87 Sportster for sale in Pattaya.

I travelled fron Bkk to Phuket by bus last December.....not a great trip buy bus , but some of the sweeping roads would be great on a bike....

If you happen to be in Phuket between 9-12th April .....www.phuketbikeweek.com.

I was in Phuket in April 2007 and heaps of bikers from all over Thailand and Asia rode there for a 3 day festival....

Definately worth a look if you happen to be in Phuket at that time.....

Love to take a sexy ladyboy on the back of a sports bike from Pattaya to Phuket myself.

Did you try Craigslist? Not sure how big it is in BKK, but they have a section for Bangkok, so I assume there must be some activity on there. One of your best bets is to ask around. I actually know two people whose families own motorbike lots selling 2nd-hand bikes. However they live in Pattani and Chiang Rai, respectively, so they are not much use to you in particular. But in a place like BKK I'm sure you can find a referall via a friend?
