Well us guys all get burned by women - one way or another - whether they be wives or whores.
As I have said many times before a marriage is like a phone contract - you cannot make changes - if you do the penalty clause is invoked - Divorce - now that is expensive!
P4P is good fun and there is a difference between living here 365 and coming on a vacation of 2/3 weeks.
Living here can be brilliant BUT I would not choose to live in Pattaya Town center. You will burn out quickly and become cynical.
I live outside of Pattaya and visit town 2 or 3 times a week. That is enough. When I visit town I am either there to eat with friends, meet some BM's or go on a prowl - just so I am kept to up to date and can then update the forum.
I know many foreigners living here - many with their Western wives. They enjoy a good lifestyle, stay in touch with family/friends, who are pleased to visit. There are many activities to enjoy due to a kinder climate. Sailing, Golf, Water sports, sightseeing. You do not need to live in bars and BF every single night
IMHO most guys who visit, on holiday, spend the majority of their time in the town, and the bars, and with GG's/LB's BUT that is a holiday.
For those considering moving here, on a more permanent basis, I would advise using your time here to meet other Western residents and learn from them.
I have a wealth of resident Westerners that I enjoy a BBQ with, or a drink in one of the out of town bars. The Brazilian Grand Prix was on last weekend. One of our favorite out of town bars stayed open and screened the race for about 12 of us - terrific night out and not one P4P person in attendance.
Sure the P4P scene can get boring and we all get jaded with 'over exposure' BUT to then judge Thailand from that experience is to judge the US from Disneyland - and that is one place I have had enough of.
To quote from Birnbaum's guide to the Disney Parks "That Mouse will get your Dollar".
So Disney is there to get your dollar too. I prefer a ride in Pattaya to a Roller Coaster manned by a mouse!!
