  • Cost of bottle service

Just curious if anyone knows the ballpark prices of bottle service (e.g. single bottle for the night) of Johnnie Walker red and/or black at your typical Ratchada joint. Think Hollywood or Snop as examples. Or if you know of places around RCA then that information would be helpful too. Thanks in advance!

It's been a while DB, but as I recall the cost is about 1500 to 2000 baht...plus the setup...cokes, soda, etc...

Was at Sally's in Jomtien last night and a small bottle of SangSom was 350.  Think that includes one ice bucket and two free mixers.

I know you PigDogg and I also know DP...I somehow can't picture DP sitting
very comfortable at Sally's in Jomtien drinking SangSom...

Although I am very happy to hear it only costs 350 baht for a small bottle of SangSom...
Because, as you know, I do have a reason to sit there...

Aside from which, I like SangSom...I like it with Milk though...

I have not been to Hollywood for a few years now. Last time I was there it was 2500 for black (it's probably more now) and 300 baht each set of mixers. It gets very expensive and each mixer round the wait staff expect a little tip on top of it.

Early in this decade it was much different. They handed out free whisky cards to anyone who wanted them. Often it was cheaper whiskey like Johnny Langer or Spey, but I even got a bottle of black free back then. Mixers were cheap and the exchange rate was much better than now. The shows they had were incredible--top rate models who went topless. I miss those days.

There are also discos that are even more expensive than this like CM2 complete with massive cover charges.

All good stuff, thanks for the heads-up gentlemen.

I would imagine that bottle service anywhere in the world isn't exactly "cheap", although even at 2,000 baht a pop for Red (which I think is the going rate from some PMs) its a lot cheaper than the 4,000+ pay I'd pay in Miami!

On a side note, never tried SangSom, but my momma always taught me to stay away from drinking household cleaners!

A bit of nostalgia came over me as I coincidentally just ran across some old cards laying around from Hollywood. It was common for discos all over Bangkok to hand out cards like this. Each of these cards offered 50% off mixers during happy hours plus 4-6 bottles of free whiskey and were stamped each bottle. And that's when the exchange rate was very good for US dollars! You could hang out all night at a disco and pay very little since the alcohol was free and the mixers cheap and there was no such thing as a cover charge. At that time the disco's were filled mostly with university students who were often very price sensitive.

I think it was Valentines day 2003 that led to the downfall of these glory days. On that day a teacher strolled down RCA road and saw some of her students hanging out there as young as 14. The story made the paper. It was soon after the barricades went up around all the discos in Bangkok with strict ID checks, closing times started being imposed, the "good" shows disappeared, and the dynamics completely changed.
