How much salary?

My lady friend Toy works as a translator for an NGO; has 2 degree's, one in English .... her pay is 12K baht per month and she is quite happy with that and sayss its normal. She tells me "next year they will raise me to 15K and I can buy a washing machine".

I think the people BangkokSins was talking about are the wealthy Thai's we see on Sukhimvit road in their Mercedes driving to their gated community or luxury high-rise, but they are certainly in the very low minority.
