My H-D will get shipped there someday ....unless of course they have come up with a dealership somewhere in the Kingdom in the 2 years since I have been around? In any case it will be nice to have a real bike there and not one of those 110cc Honda Dreams which are driven by girls, old ladies, little kids and falangs as well; my 1340cc fuel-injected screamer would be a blast on Phuket riding up the west coast at sunset.
Could be a problem getting parts for when it breaks down however
I have a friend who moved to the Philippines in the 90's ..... crated up his Harley also and shipped it over, cost less than 1 grand..... arrived all in one piece and he has had it there for 10 years now in perfect shape, always the only one around too.
Like Roscco found above - you put the bike in a shipping container with all your other items.
The manifest then states 'Household items and personnal efects'.
When it gets to Thailand they have so many containers to check that they are not going to open every one.
You'll get 'invited' to pay a fast clearence fee - just pay up and smile.
Not sure about re-registering it for Thailand but I'm sure a few more Baht would sort that out - especially if you do it in an smaller local office.

Re importing a HD - one option is that you could dismantle it and ship as parts. You still have the problem of registration on the reassembled bike though.
GOOD news - there are 2 HD dealers in Pattaya with full service/upgrade facilities and a range of 2nd hand bikes for sale.
