    (Mr. GRUMPY (Grrr!) @ Jan. 11 2008,21:32)
(rxpharm @ Jan. 11 2008,21:05) but you really need the proper immune system to handle it...
Asians are raised on this filth. They are made of much sterner stuff than us delicate souls. We ain't built for it, so be careful.
so were we until the second world war. we in the west now wrap our little sweet babys in cotton wool and never let a germ get any where near the little blighters. hence when they do get sick they have poor immunity to fight what ever it is that ale's them.
it wont take you long to build up immunity, but on the opther hand if you onl;y eat shit from fast food chains you will become ugly and fat.lmao

I know at least 2 other people who have been sick eating there. I have eaten there a few times and been lucky I suppose but I will not go back there now just in case.

For all those who have suffered from the infamous Nana Burger, there is a tasty and safe alternative! The Love Burger - have sampled them 4 times during my last couple of trips without incident. Better than Burger King or McDonald's if you want the burger without fries. They set up their cart on Soi 11, very near to Sukhumvit Road on the same side as the 7/11. Open around 6 pm and close around midnight.

Here is a photo of the Love Burger cart, and also a look at how nicely they wrap the burger!

Dude, thanks for posting that. I've copied it and will print it out and take it with me.
I love street food and Thai food. So besides ladyboys I'm really looking forward to sampling as much of a variety of local food as I can when I get to Thailand in January.

For only the brave with cast iron stomachs - the Nana Bug cart always draws a crowd of tourists - but is also popular with some lbs. Can you imagine your date for the night buying a bag of bugs to crunch during a LT encounter? Luckily most of them will not do that to their clients!

I eat street food daily, where else can you eat a full meal for 30 baht or less...haha.

The only time I ever did get sick eating street food in the 4 years I have been here was about 6 months ago. I had been looking at a condo near Chong Nonsi BTS and though I thought the neighborhood would be OK to live, the eating places in the neighborhood seemed a bit seedy. The LB (not Nui either) that was with me had been asking to eat, so we ate at this one street stand and 1 hour later....I was sicker that I had been in years.
She was fine and was so good at taking care of me too. Funny how LB's are so nurturing!

Well, I took getting sick as an oman and the lb said to believe what my mind was telling me....and DO NOT take the condo we looked at. She gave me the usual meds to make me feel better and 12 hours later I was feeling better. I never did go back and take the place we had looked at and I soon found the great place where I live now.

Moral of the story: If you question the cleanliness of the cart/stand (which I did).....MOVE ON! There are others around the corner.

a long time supporter of the famous nanaburger cart, when a little the worse for wear and leaving NEP empty armed, my day is made with two cheeseburgers, quart of milk and the necessary bag of M&M's, ahh, nothing like Bangkok
Life is short. Live it well.
