Stewart is right. I may pay over the odds sometimes in LOS, but at a market stall I dont pay the first price I'm offered ..... that's all it is (in most cases) - an opening offer......ask them to hand over the calculator so you can tap in your own price.

l'm over in LOS for Songkran but am taking my kids and meeting GG, so no L/b action for me, especially upsetting as we are off to Chiang Mai.

BUT the big concern for me is the exchange rate for the Baht, worst l have ever had is 68, now it's struggling about 63 and take off commision and it's a big influence on spending.

Do the girls have any understanding of the value of the pound ?

Have been told that gg's or lb's they always ask more off the Japanese ?

So do we get quoted cheaper that Japanese, and how does that compare against other nationalities ?

Regarding prices quoted l think that unless they have a set pricing structure ( WHICH IS COMPLETELY UN REALISTIC ) you are going to have to pay your money and take your choice.

High season, busy bar, overweight, ugly, bad breath, plenty of punters = High price.

Low season, empty bar, no customer in 3 days = cheap.

First thing you want to do is stop changing your money in UK - you will get at least 5-10% better rate in Thailand. Current BKK Bank exchange rate for GBP is 66.5 baht to the pound and no commission to pay - ie you give the bank 100 pound = 6650 baht in your hand.

Well, sorry for the confusion but the post written regarding the superstar wasnt worded properly at all.   Who is "she" in the second sentence.  One can infer that it is Jane but one can also infer that she was referring to Jenny and that the poster underpaid.   Jane's comments should have been placed in quote's to determine if she was speaking about herself, others or in the third person.  

As for PLM....its a term used on several Discussion Boards and it refers to a Pathetic Loser Monger.  Basically guys who are pushovers in our little world of mongering and pay whatever the girl asks then buys them gold necklaces and sends them money upon returning home.    It could also be guys that seem to forget that these girls are prostitutes and gets offended when others make comments about the girl, etc.

Somthing confusing here. I have been here for a number of years and have never paid 2000 for shorttime. It has been mentioned a few times but I just laugh and we get on to the real prices. I pay 1000 baht ST and 1500 LT and it is acceptable to almost all. I pay whateve the barfine is if there is one and as far as a tip goes-- why? The price has already been established before we leave the bar. If they ask I will give them 100 baht for taxi fare. At these rates I am always asked to be a repeat customer.
