I have been a long time lurker and have used this forum as a great resource of information over the past couple of years.
I usually get to Thailand once a year and i have just returned from a trip. I had been to the old Guess bar and loved it, so my first destination when i hit the ground was to have a cold beer and check out the new place. I walked in with a smile on my face, it was pretty quiet and was charged upon by about 4 of the girls, i thought i had walked into the wrong bar and i quickly retreated to the outside smoking area hoping to get some grace. The girls followed and started the whole "i go wit u", "u take me". Whilst i understand the girls are there to work and it was getting late, the place was empty, i thought this was supposed to be a place where you can chill out, take a look and have a bit of a chance to see what is on offer without being set upon. Maybe they smelt the "fresh of the plane meat" and is different for those who are regulars, but to me nothing seperated this place with any of the Nana Plaza places. I did try it again about 5 days later, same story. Jay was outside on her computer this time, perhaps they might be a bit more laid back whilst she is around. i had one drink and went on my merry way to find fun elsewhere.
This is just my little story and i certainly do not want to put anyone off going here, the more bars the better, but if the claim of this place is a v.i.p lounge, i certainly did not find it to be my experience.
I'll try it out again on the next trip as i do like the concept of the Guess Bar when and if it gets back to being the place it had built is reputation on.
