Lol slimiest means slimy as in covered in goo, YUCK! But I know you mean slimmest as in thin. 
Tan you really should consider what's the best rather than just 1 company since sometimes they do screw up, so with the research I did recently:
I think since you're a night owl and you want decent night/ low light shots: Canon S90 is really awesome.

If you want decent zoom during the day for close ups: Pansonic TZ10/ZS7 (its called 2 different names in different world regions but its the same camera.

Since I wanted both I went with this one:

The street during the morning hours (no no ladyboys around here, I need to travel 3 miles to see the closest one)


The neighbors dogs (I wish they'd stop kicking them all the time and paint their fence!)




A max 18x zoom close up (72x zoom is possible with 4x digital zoom too, I wish the email belonged to a lb)

Me being a noob and taking 3 tries to figure out the appropriate shutter speed
