They won't get many takers at that price. I doubt it'll be more than $800.

(Bumpa STIKKA @ Sep. 03 2010,19:30) I don't think that Samsung quite has the 'cool' factor of Apple... but it's not that far behind.
What it does have is features and more professional people will be inspired by this than they will have been by the iPad.
I'm a bit annoyed that the internal memory is only 32 gigs... but unlike the Apple iPad you can add another 32 gigs in the available memory slot. (STILL not enough though. I would like to have seen a 128 gig internal memory.)
The smaller size suits me better too. I can chuck that in my bumbag and take it every where... unlike the netbook which was a bit of a hassle.
I already have a phone and camera and don't need a tablet to replace those. And unless you got some enormous hurkin' pockets it sure as he'll can't fit in your pocket.... Its nearly the same size as my iPad but with a smaller screen.
Is it the open OS and the reduced number of available apps? I realize many think "open OS" is a positive. From my experience that means more crashes, incompatibilities, additional complexity and integration issues. I don't mind paying more for my Mac products because they are far easier to actually use and maintain than my PC's.
I love my Mac but have used PC's at work for 10+ years and while they fit a niche, it's like the difference between driving a Ford Taurus or a BMW. They both get the job done but One is a far more enjoyable experience.Making newbie mistakes since 2009 so you don't have to

In the interest of full disclosure I should mention that one thing that really does annoy me about my iPad is the inability to manipulate photos. The fact that I cannot download and import photos and then attach them to a Trip Report was a major shocker to me, and a huge disappointment.Making newbie mistakes since 2009 so you don't have to

What makes this worth $400 more than I paid for my 3G iPad with 64GB?
Samsung have made it clear that any prices on the internet are pure guesswork.
Nobody know how much these gadgets are going to be and I'll wager that some of the criteria for the new prices will be the reaction to rumours on the internet and other gossip blogs.SHEMALE.CENTER

Samsung has to price this competitive to the iPad since they are the only 2 in this category now (I hear Toshiba is ready to launch as well). My bet is they price cheaper than the iPad to get traction in the market & then make $$ on the app sales.
2 points:
1- Most people I know who have the iPad really like it, despite whatever tradeoffs it has. It is a game changer, like the iPod & iPhone before it, both of which are still the standard by which all others are judged. (Android is the first real challenger to this.)
2- I would be a bit circumspect about being a first generation buyer of a new tech product until it's been out for a while. Especially the security aspects of a new device.

1) Ipad is a great device if you are happy ignore its limitations
2) Security.... hmmmm..... is it really so important that you would ignore the first generation of any product

Well, a 7 inch tab can't replace my computer and I doubt it would do all the functions I want a computer to do...
...but it definitely will be my portable device de jour!
Instead of popping in and out of my office to see if I have an email I can just set the Tab down on the coffee table downstairs. Of course I COULD do this with my net book which actually DOES do a whole lot more than the Tab but it's just so cumbersome that I won't!
Also - I can just pop in my sim card and take calls and messages on it too, which I can't with my netbook.
Now - if it has a decent game of solitaire then I'll even be taking it to the crapper with me!
Actually - I timed this perfectly as I'm off to Hong Kong at the beginning of November! I'll get one there.SHEMALE.CENTER
