    Here's a neat trick...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab does 'Screen Captures.'

To do this simply press on the 'Back' softkey and click in the 'Power/Lock' button at the same time.  If done right, it will snap a shot (you'll hear it!) and let you know with an onscreen message.

You can pretty much do this from anywhere on your device.

The pic is saved to a folder on the SD card called "ScreenCapture."

Wifi Browser Login makes 'browser login' hotel wireless connections easier on Android

Getting hooked up to your hotel's 'browser login' wireless signal is easy enough if you're on a laptop, but connecting with a smartphone when you want to save mobile data dollars can be a bit trickier. For Android users, a free app called Wifi Browser Login (WBL) makes the process a little bit smoother.

Once installed, just jump into the WBL settings and set your preferred options. To connect, simply keep your eyes peeled for a notification to appear when the app detects browser-based access protection. The app can also be configured to automatically open your default Web browser so that you can establish a connection immediately.

As Lifehacker points out, this would make a brilliant addition to a future version of the Android OS itself, but in the meantime the app is free, easy on resources, and well worth an install for Android users who frequent places with browser-secured Wi-Fi.

(Bumpa STIKKA @ Nov. 27 2010,02:54) But... The NFL website won't let you choose between the mobile or regular version. You are stuck with the crappy mobile version. This means I can't log into my Game Pass subscriptions and watch the games on it. I have emailed Jeff from the NFL and they seem to be interested in sorting this out... but when that happens, who knows.
People on these thread say that the Steel browser or the Dolphin browser might allow you to change the useragent.

Mobile torrenting: how to manage and stream downloads from your phone

BitTorrent logo, with Windows, Mac, Linux and AndroidWhile exciting progress is being made in the realm of high-speed mobile data, it will be a long time indeed before wireless operators can catch up with wired bandwidth and ubiquity. For the time being, mass data transfer will be one of the few things that will stay within the realm of home and office computing, on DSL and Cable connections.

Still, just because you run your BitTorrent client on your desktop, laptop, or NAS, doesn't mean that you can't manage your torrents while on the move! If you see a poster for Pioneer One during your daily commute, you can whip out your smartphone and add the latest episode to your at-home torrent client.

And again, while it isn't wise to torrent on your smartphone, you can send a file from your PC to your phone; you can even stream a TV show, movie or song from home to your mobile device.

In this guide we'll cover Windows, Mac and Linux on the PC side of things, and Android, iOS, Symbian, BlackBerry, and Web apps on the mobile side. Let's jump in! ... Details at the link:

As I feel like I have been left out of this thread I immediately went out and bought a tablet. I bought the Zoom by Motorola instead of the Galaxy as it is bigger and I can use it for my company to haul files around on instead of a brief case! I bought it about a week ago and so far so good! Once I get a little bit more into it and I can stop playing Angry Birds I will give a better report. thanks for all of the information on the Galaxy but was to small for my purposes!
Seize the day because tomorrow is never promised!

I'm on-board. It's much more portable than a net-book, smaller than the Ipad, and has all the basic features I need and more. (Movies, music, web, photos, etc.).

Is this the same device? Looks too good to be true:

That's it... except the American version is useless. Get any version of the galaxy Tab BUT a US version.

I use mine every day all day! Dunno how I ever did without it!

Worthless because it's "locked"? I wouldn't be using mine as a cellphone (too bulky), so as long as it has WiFi connectivity I don't think I'd mind. Unless there's something else that I'm missing?

No SIM card, plus it's locked plus you get all the bloat-ware from the phone company... aside from that it's the same as a proper one!

Thnx. I'll likely pull the trigger. Super cheap and as long as it can connect via WiFi, I'll have my ultra portable netbook replacement for biz and pleasure trips. Porn on work computer = no bueno.

The WiFi connection is great - and I don't use the SIM feature much anyway.

It's a great size, but gets a little heavy for hand holding after a while!

Best gizmo of the year, I reckon!
