if you split them and use something like nero to burn to disc, just select burn as dvd movie from the smart start menu.

ISO isn't a format just a mirror image of a disc.

So if you are burning to Dual Layer, burn as ISO and the image will be burnt as an accurate copy of the original disc.
If you unpack the files and split them, the files should be MPEG. They can be burnt as data or, to make it easy to play in a DVD player in DVD format.

Probably easier to buy a DVD player that plays DivX etc

(sev7en @ Jul. 11 2009,21:10) Yeah, actually, i want to use the blank dvd i have here, and burn 2 dvd´s.
I read about shrinking/splitting ISO files, and create a virtual drive with Deamon tools. But my experience tells me it´s easier and quicker to go get dual layer dvds, then spend hours trying to resize, install software. etc etc.
      Hi

Daemon Tools is really simple and easy (and free!).
It is the best solution if you could watch the movie on your PC or if you can link HDMI/DVI output of your PC to your TV.

As easy as: install, reboot, mount ISO on virtual DVD drive, navigate to drive, double click and watch movie.

No burner/player compatibility issues, no zone issues, no botched burning attempts, no problems!

      P.S.
I've got a "network media adapter" under my TV which is linked to my home ethernet network.
From that adapter I can navigate to the files on my network, and it plays of course DivX, XVid, etc. but also DVD format saved into a directory as well as ISO and Cue/Bin.
Gigabit ethernet allows for enough bandwidth to watch in HD.

        I couldn't agree more.

But some people still rely on the more traditional set up.

Some even still have stereo systems and CDs

          4 Euros that's insane !
it should be 1, 2 at most. And cheaper if you buy a pack of 10.

              Snick, 35 euros for a TDK 10-pack.
This is Europe, not Pantip plaza

Thanks for all the help guys. Dual layers did the trick.

Manarak fleeing, this wasn´t for me actually, but for a friend.
I have a a mediacenter hooked up but use a brand new extern dvd-player that plays all files, hdmi connected. Still easier and more convenient than using the pc for everything.

Wasn´t too long ago i threw ut the stereo with cd´s.

Just for comparison, how much is a 1,5 m hdmi cable in Bkk , Snick?
              Here it´s 30 euros.

Yes, manarak, very expensive country, almost as Switzerland.

get a western digital media center for about 120 euro

it's portable and easy to use and you can just copy files from PC to it's hard drive. Easy to hook up to TV and play away

you can get HDMI cables for any price in Europe - cheap ones for 12 euro up to a few hundred euro for gold-plated connectors etc. I was offered one for 1000 baht (a little over 20 euro) in BKK - guess you could get cheaper too

                  What he said

They can be up to 4000 Baht here, once Big C had a house brand on sale for 300 Baht and I bought 6 of them. Saved them for a rainy day, and one by one I used 'em all.

I have a friend w/ the WD Media Center, and he thinks its great.

BTW for blank media, USA is cheaper than Panthip.

Welcome to the forum and congradulations you have just taken over top spot for the strangest opening post. Then you came back with a second post that wasn't too bad either.

Maybe for an encore you can tell us a little more about yourself. I shouldn't complain at least your not starting a thread looking for Mint.
