    Burn ISO files

    Hello techies,

I want to burn Dexter season 3 on dvd as dvd, not datafile. It´s 2 ISO files on my hdd , about 6.6 gb each. My empty dvd´s are 4.7gb .
Any suggestions how to do this? Shrink the iso-files? Make a virtualdrive?

    Help appreciated.
    Thanks.

Is your DVD burner dual-layer compatible? You can use a dual layer DVD to burn the ISO, it can hold 8.5 GB

Yes, dual layer. The point is to be able to play the dvd-discs on a player that only supports dvd and cd, no datafiles such avi and mpeg.

So i burn each ISO as dual?

      Thanks.

Yes, there is no problem. Actually the original DVD movies that are promoted as DVD9 (not the pirate versions) are burned on dual layer DVDs. The resulting DVD can be read by any of the recent DVD players.

This requires of course dual layer empty DVD-discs? I don´t think mine are.....

Yes, you need dual layer blank DVDs. You can get them at any computer shop - cost a bit more than the single layer, but very handy for have for situations like you have.

He would have to have a program that can split the ISO files which are 6.6 GB each. He might be able to get some shareware or freeware to do it, but it is simpler to burn to a DL dvd.

Yeah, actually, i want to use the blank dvd i have here, and burn 2 dvd´s.
I read about shrinking/splitting ISO files, and create a virtual drive with Deamon tools. But my experience tells me it´s easier and quicker to go get dual layer dvds, then spend hours trying to resize, install software. etc etc.

You can easily split the 6.6 GB files to 2 x 3.3 GB and burn them to separate DVDs.

Just 'unpack' the isos (plenty of free iso software around) and use a splitter like Boilsoft Splitter to create your 2x 3.3 GB files.

                      Shouldn't take too long.

                        Buy some Verbatim DVD-DL (9gb)

ONLY use Verbatim, other brands have lots of problems.

Hehe, just came back from store with TDK double layers. Expensive feckers 4 euros each.
fleeing, are you serious?? "DVD player doesn't read dual layer discs" ?

If i split them, what format do i burn them in? ISO?

As long as your DVD player is not more than 5 years old, there should be no problem with it playing DL dvds.
