Thanks kevin4252: I just read your message and I was just planning on booking a trip for October with a week stay at the Majestic Grande.  It looks like a really nice hotel with good rates.  I'm so glad its close to Guess Bar.

I just got back from my first trip to Thailland.  I was just in Bangkok 2 weeks ago  and missed the opportunity to go to Guess but I had some good times at Casanova.  BTW- I stayed at Century Park Hotel a bit too far from the action - but a really nice place and a short walk to the Skytrain.

I found the streets of Bangkok extremely safe.  And like everyone else just saw a couple of red shirts - but I was in town the first weekend of the protests and traveled north by Saturday, so I missed most of the nonsense.  Anyway, they are concentrating their protests far away from Nana Plaza.    Thank God - because no one better interfere with the LB's .... !!!!

I would second the recommendation of the Majestic Grande, it's my favorite hotel in BKK and only steps from Guess Bar and the NEP. Rates are good and it's one of the finest hotels I've ever stayed in, 4 star rooms at 2 or 3 star prices.

I'd also second the recommendation to go straight to PATTS at first, then come back to BKK after you've gotten acclimated (and a bit of the excess sperm drained from the system).

When in Pattaya, I've always stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort, very ladyboy friendly and good rates, but I'm already thinking for my next trip I might try the Areca Inn or the LK Renaissance. Results of that very-unscientific poll were Pattaya Bay Resort 15 votes, LK Renassaince 14 votes, Areca Lodge 10 votes, Sunshine Hotel 7 votes, Penthouse Hotel 5 votes.

I would disregard IshyWishy's comments, simply because it's been clearly demonstrated on the board that he uses multiple identities (posting from the same IP address) both "touting" the benefits of the Penthouse, but when confronted with the facts, he continued (and continues) to deny the evidence. Bottom line is if someone wants to pretend and tout stuff on here, they will be called out for it.

On the other hand, Pacman is a long time and well-respected Board Member who truly enjoys the Penthouse experience and enthuses about it. I would recommend that if you are interested in the Penthouse, seek out Pacman's input. But recognize that anything IshyWishy says on the subject is tainted.

Ultimately, reading this board and asking questions is a lot like drinking from a firehose - you'll get WAY MORE than you can really use, but it will definitely give you what you needed.

Please also consider posting a Trip Report of your trip. In my experience, it's best to do it on the fly, day by day, as otherwise all the really fun details will get forgotten and lost. If you make the time, it will be of great benefit to you as well as you will have a lasting diary of your experiences that you can re-read on those cold snowy New York nights for years to come.

I have stayed at the Majestic Grande, it's very nice. You'll be happy there.

I have stayed at the LK Renaissance & liked it very much. Arguably the best rooms in a guest friendly hotel in Pattaya. You won't be disappointed.

The reasons I stay at the Penthouse are basic -

Location - I save hours of walking by being less than 5 minutes from Walking Street & 30 seconds from Baht buses going north on Second Rd & 30 seconds from Baht buses going south on Beach Rd.

Obsessions - having one of the main LB bars under the main roof is a godsend on those nights when the rain keeps you from going out. Plus the girls are in the hotel from 5pm on.

The convenience of going downstairs to pick from such a great choice of beautiful girls (there were 33 on staff last November) is a feature that cannot be replicated in any other hotel in Thailand.

I can go on about other things I like but I don't understand why the availability of girls inside your own hotel isn't appreciated more by some of the regular visitor to Pattaya.

Maybe they believe the stories about used dildos, greasy towels & cockroaches but in 3 weeks stay I never saw anything like it.

Anyway, each to their own.

I have a few questions and I would really appreciate it you can provide me with the needed info, especially that I have big troubles logging on to the forum as I live in a Gulf country where the internet connections is under restrictions, and I always have to use proxies, and most of the time they don€™t work properly or even disconnect while going through the forum.
I am finally going to Bangkok for the 1st time, and looking forward to have my 1st time LB experiences in Bangkok and Pattaya.

Do you mean the national standard rate charged for services that are technically illegal?

And that would also depend on your pick-up spot. Beach Road in Pattaya after midnight is a must, for those who are turned on by the idea of losing all their valuables (on body and/or in the room).

Bangkok: Majestic Grande Sukhumvit - 2600 baht for Grande Superior (like a suite) and 2 minutes walk to Nana Entertainment Plaza (Cascades, Obsessions, Cassanova, etc. as well as 1 block from Guess Bar)
Pattaya: Pattaya Bay Resort, Areca Lodge, LK Renaissance - all are in range of 1500-2000 baht per night.

How much would it cost for a short time, and a full night with an LB?
As Snick said it varies but good averages are Bkk 1500-4000 pattaya 1000-2000

Most of the hotels I've listed charge a fee usually 500-1000 baht for a 2nd guest. I wouldn't suggest 2 Ladyboys to a newbie. Sometimes one will rob you while other keeps you busy. But usually what happens is one watches TV while the other has sex with you. It's a real art to get 2 ladyboys engaged in a true menage a trois, and you don't have the experience to make it work. You'll probably end up hogtied in the closet with all your possessions missing.

Take a taxi. Best/easiest means is to have the Pattaya hotel arrange a pickup for you and delivery to their location. Will cost a bit more but it's worth it for the newbie peace of mind.

Be careful but don't be paranoid, it really is an Adult Disneyland if you just use your head. NEVER pay in advance. Always treat the girls well and give them a good tip if the service is satisfactory. NEVER shortchange the girls.
