There is no range in bar fines. They are always the same any time of day or noght and on any night unless you go on a special occasion for example New Years Eve, etc, when they will jump from 600 baht to maybe 1,000 baht.

There is no necessity to tip the girls. Certainly they like a tip, they are not shy to ask for one, but there is no rule about giving a tip equal to the bar fine.

The bar fine merely buys them out of the bar, the amount each girl gets is negotiated individually & should be agreed upon before anything else is done.

A new comer to the scene with an experienced girl back in the room is just an easy target to be hit with an outrageous demand for money if the amount hasn't been settled upon before paying the barfine.

I will offer a tip if the girl has made an effort & been good company, not the same as the barfine, maybe 100 to 200 baht, otherwise they get shown the door with the agreed amount. Even for a dud, they still should be paid, remember it is their country & an angry girl has many ways to spoil our holiday.

As far as Mint goes, the story is that she isn't available as an escort these days, but for an obscene amount of money, I am sure she could be coaxed out of retirement.

When I was in BKK this past January, I paid 1,500 for all of the girls that I took for a ST, plus a BF of 600. No one complained and they all seemed happy with that arrangement. I never tried to get them to go for less.

My tip mantra runs along the same lines as the 'mans - extra pay is  performance based. If one of these ladies is exceptional (screws you silly for 2 hours) they deserve a bare minimum of cab fare home. The 100-200 baht range mentioned is pure good will on your part, and you'll receive a wai and thank you in return that is worth more than that if you believe in good karma.

Just to clear up something that may be confusing to newbies.

Some guys refer to the tip as the total amount they pay a girl (not including the barfine), the 1000 baht or 1500 baht, whatever.

While when other guys refer to a tip they mean the 100 or 200 or 500 baht extra they give to the girl over and above to what they agreed or what they normally give.
