Prices are pretty much the same and you can get access to your room via the back alley

If you are arriving early November, you should still be able to head over to Guess Bar before the place is relocated.

As a bonus, short time rooms are available onsite.

Have a read of the many useful posts in the Guess Bar sub forum, however I believe that this venue is well suited to first timers like yourself.

Hi Drphil35.i'm staying near nana and the guess bar.arriving on the 8th of nov,straight over to the guess bar,waited for a long time to visit this place.off to chiang mai on the 13th of nov,5 nights,then off to pattaya for 2 nights.the same schedule as you,might see you in the guess bar.a first timmer full of anticipation.

To repeat a comment I made in an earlier thread, it would be cool if we had a "ROOKIE BASICS / NEWBIE QUESTIONS" forum all by itself that a bunch of this stuff could go into, a compilation of all the best basic bedrock info that us newbies ought to know before we go. Here's a few questions from my trawls through the forum:

1. What exactly is "butterflying"? And related to that, there seems to be a whole philosophical schism here regarding P4P -vs- playing house -vs- highschool romance. My attitude regarding P4P has always been to treat my "date" with respect, but agree upon a price up front with the clear understanding that exceptional service will receive a tip. The price we agree on is the basic, for basic sex. And anything exceptional is going to earn additional money from me, which I'm EAGER to give out as I'm eagerly hoping they'll provide service that moves me to pay extra. I rarely pay the agreed-upon rate a I want to show that with me, there's incentive for them to go the extra mile. That's always worked well with me. But the thread I keep picking up here is that I won't be very successful in LOS if I treat the ladyboys with respect regarding prices and services unless I also play the game of pretending there is some sort of "exclusivity" or BF/GF relationship in the offing. I hope that's not the case, as I really like to try a variety and doing the same person twice within a few days is the exception. Is it merely a matter of learning to be discrete and not causing a LB to lose face by dating someone from her bar immediately after dating her? Or is there some way to be clear with everyone that I'm there to P4P and will treat them with dignity and respect, have lots of fun, and have it be "ok" to move from girl to girl within a single bar without building some sort of horrible rep for myself that will keep me from landing good dates? I'm probably not being clear here, but is there a way to maneouver through the LB's without having to play games emotionally and be able to get away with "serial dating" as it were? This is all a bit unclear. I don't want to play along with someone being possessive. Ultimately, it's bullshit and I think we all know it. THe possessiveness is mostly driven by finance, not lust or romance. And since I'm the one who's holding the Baht, I'm not gonna feel compelled to play along with a demand that I not go with another LB the next night, or even later the same night. How badly is this going to hamper my ability to have fun?

2. What is a "wai"?

3. Can you/should you ask the mamasan specific questions about a girls "talents"? As stated elsewhere, I'm a fanatic about getting deepthroat bj's. Would it be inappropriate/uncomfortable/a waste of time to ask the mamasan which LB's are the best providers of such services?

4. Finally, there seems to be a bit of debate about where to go. I've got 3 weeks, so I could start in BKK, travel to Pattaya, then to Phuket, then back to BKK. Anyone got good solid reportage I should view that lays out the benefits or liabilities of each? One guy says BKK is the way to go, then Billy says Pattaya is the only place to be. I'd love to see this expanded on, and my searches didn't reveal a clear thread to follow on that point. Anyone that has input on "the perfect 3 week Thailand itinerary" would be much appreciated.

Again, it would be great to see a "NEWBIE INFO / ROOKIE QUESTIONS" thread that only deals with basic info like the above, without being mixed in with specific requests that don't have broad application to all newbies.

Ah shit... ignore my question about "which is the best place to go" - upon further research I've found a ton of info hidden in various threads. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth. Would still be nice to have a single "my favorite Thailand itinerary" thread where people posted their dream itinerary with explanations of WHY they'd spend 3 days in BKK then 12 in Phuket then 3 in Pattaya then return to BKK or whatever.

1) Butterflying -- fooling around with a lot of girls...aka being a guy.
When you get to 50 girl ( 20 if in one trip ) you graduate from Butterfly status to helicopter status

2) A Wai is the traditional Thai greeting.
Short answer: don't do it, you don't know the rules, you will just look silly
Long answer: A Wai is initiated by the inferior party to the superior party, the location of the wai varies depending on the relationship of the two people, the inferior holds the wai until acknowledged by the superior (which might be a wai or a nod of the head, smile, etc.).

3) Absolutely - thats what she is there for, just make sure to buy her a drink.

4) There is no consensus on best. Bangkok has the most high quality girls, but its harder to get the GFE ( Girlfriend Experience), and since most girls work in Nana - you will get 'known' quickly; Pattaya is sleazy (which is a good thing), lots of LB, scattered all over, easier to get a GFE. Phuket more expensive destination, lots of girls are more interested in posing than screwing - but not all.

I would try Bangkok and Pattaya first, and then go to Phuket

If there were an infinite number of bars I's say not to pull different girls from the same bar.  In Pattaya, which has about 3000 genetic girl bars this makes sense.

However there are limited number of ladyboy venues so this won't work.  

By the way many all girl bars have a secret ladyboy, passabale but not glamorous.

I'd start off in Bangkok for two nights, making sure to check out Guess and the 4 NEP ladyboy bars.  Then go to Pattaya for a week.  Then Phuket.  Having had a taste of all three you then determine how long to stay in Phuket and whether to end your trip in Bangkok or Pattaya.  

It was a mistake for me not to hit Phuket until trip four.
