Yeah Pacman, we have that available here as well. They call it bio-identical hormone replacement. You go in for a consultation, they draw a lot of blood, do an analysis of your various hormone levels and then prescribe the hormones that you need to get you back up to where they were when you were in your prime.
Depending on where you go, the consultation costs around $500 and the subsequent monthly costs for the meds can run anywhere from $300-$500 per month.
Most insurers will not cover this. Mine sure as hell won't.
It seem like a fucking rip off to me. You could probably get the same thing done in the LOS for about a quarter of the cost or less, although I have not researched that option.

It is expensive here too. I have heard varying amounts but there are a number of old guys laying out 1,000's of dollars a year just so they can keep up with their trophy wife. And insurance doesn't cover it anywhere as far as I know.

I wonder if we are talking about the exact same thing? Hormone imbalance is treated with specific hormones, I have had that, this is HGH, the stuff sought after by elite athletes to give them a competitive edge.

It was big news when I mentioned to some young fellas that I could get it prescribed for me. They said it was worth a fortune on the black market. They had heard of people getting it through a local gym.

However I don't need to worry about the cost, my GP decided I wasn't a suitable candidate after my cardiac event. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I should probably start another thread for this, but I'll let the boss-man decide where he wants to put it.
Anyway, I found out my insurance does cover hormone replacement. I got tested and my testosterone was low. I got my first injection of testosterone last Friday. I can't believe how much better I feel. I've been waking up with a woody so intense you could pull a fucking plow with it.
The bummer is I need one every two weeks; I gotta inject myself next time. The Dr. showed my how to do it.
Can't even tell you how much I am looking forward to going to the LOS with my newly pharmaceutically enhanced libido.

I'm also getting tested for human growth hormone, if it is low, I can get that as well; all courtesy of my health insurance. I'm hoping it is low, and I can start using that stuff too. Maybe then, all this exercise I do will begin to have actual visible results, like a leaner torso, for starters.
