I'm a liberal socialist. Azza is about to explain why OZ still has STAMP DUTY!

Those thieving money men move trillions everyday betting against smaller countries, flogging their exchange rates. It costs them nothing. They need a tiny tax on those trades to make things fair and square.

Tax is theft ... we were founded by convicts ... appears not much has changed   (they just changed their name to politicians)

All of which just goes to prove that old adage " A little knowledge is dangerous"

Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage

Spoken like a true "capitalist". True "capitalists" always want to privatise the profits, socialise the losses. Never want to pay their fair share of anything, and think that someone ELSE should pay for roads, schools, hospitals, fire fighting defence etc etc and every other "public good". "Capitalists" are parasites.

The capitalists pay for society you clown. You actually think the povo left wing sociallists actually pay enough taxes to contribute anything to society other than art? Its the big end of town baby that makes society progress. Greed is good, greed is right greed works...you mark my works...  And I dont do art!!

I don't know if I am a capitalist... I happily pay for anything I consider helpful to a healthy society, such as:
              - government sponsored hospitals
              - government sponsored housing
              - government sponsored food
              - government sponsored education
              - roads, police, strategically important science, infrastructure and prestige projects, useful defense personnel and projects, useful consular services abroad, intelligence services, useful e-services (digital signature would be great), direct democracy
              - government sponsored occupational programmes

I do not like to pay taxes going into:
              - paying interests of public debt
              - helping mismanaged private companies (either let them die or nationalize if they have potential)
              - subsidizing pseudo-arts
              - over the top healthcare for all
              - housing help, social aid to people who don't want to work
              - government sponsored pensions
              - government sponsored unemployment benefits
              - paying/helping immigrants to have children
              - subsidizing farmers
              - bureaucracy
              ...

Strictly on the question of Taxes, that's quite a good List, overall
