      An incredibly well known band that hardly sold any albums.

        I have worked with nearly every punk band mentioned here on multiple occasions, we should have our own punk section on TLF :-)
        Not up the ass thank you very much...

                    True, but they atually  prefer to be Brits ....... raised near Belfast and they  supported the crown as Unionists, their 2nd album was all about their love for the Union Jack.  When I said the best stuff came from England I meant the Pistols, Damned, Clash, Subway Sect, Generation X, UK Subs, etc...... and not the US bands, which [save for the Ramones] mostly came AFTER the UK bands.

                    Probably my all-time favorite punk band, SLF never got the credit they deserved IMO ....even the singer from THIS Irish band once said that they and Jake Burns were one of his biggest influences; and these guys got....errr, kinda  big over the years, eh?

                      Another cool Brit-punk band which got a lot of turns in the cassette deck of my mom's old Camaro circa 1982

                        Yes, this thread has taken a decidedly punk - rock/alternative slant to it, which is actually surprising considering most of us boring old farts are ....well, boring old farts  LOL

                          tell me Napalm......did you ever hear of THIS guy??

                         Highly influential where I grew up in the late 70's mainly because he was from the same neighborhood..... burned out bad in his late 20's and was dead in NYC's East Village by his early 30's, by heroin OD,  but when he was a teenager he made some great stuff.

                            Jawbreaker song;

                            "You're not punk, and I'm tellin' everyone...
                            save your breath, I never was one''

                              JaiDee I remember when Rocks came out...it had a real dirty sound. Who can forget the opening bars to 'Back in the Saddle' ?

                              Bobcat thanks for Frank..and RTF were one of the first super groups. Jazzfusion never got better than this..

                              As for Never Mind the Bollocks, that was an album full of great tunes. Not to mention great lines such as "Jenny was a girl from Birmingham, she just had an abooooortion !"

                                (JaiDee @ Feb. 21 2010,13:27) Tomcat man,  you GOTTA meet me in Montreal some day.....I know a great metal nightclub there which hasn't changed since I first discovered it in 1985; very dark, loud, smelly bathrooms, unwashed and tattooed patrons, cheap beer, graffitti, no attitude or trendiness; just great metal music and cool people, open from 3pm to 3am every night; a classic bar, one of my favorites in the whole world;

                                http://maps.google.co.th/maps....QqgUwAA

                                  I was there on New Years Eve this year, surely the oldest guy in the club!  ....but no one cares and neither do I.
                                 Foufoune Électrique - Love that place. Saw soooo many bands there. I remember when it was just the top floor. Hanging out with friends after a Siouxie and the Banshees concert. Trying very hard to not freak out on bad acid. Musique Plus (Quebec version of MTV) made the place more tame.

                                Last time I was there it was for a KMFDM concert. Love the mix of punk and hardcore techno.

                                This thread is pure nostalgia. Lots of good times and some bad times - just they way the teens years should be.
