Another great one from the Sabbath vault, we used to roll spliffs in between the cover of this one and look at the stage views of Ozzie and the lads in some small venue, probably in England.... they were peaking at this time, TC
Ya, I liked the DK's and The Jam also Strocube.....Paul Weller was a smart guy and could write some nice stuff.
Did you ever get into this band??
Their first album and singles were great, but it was Nobody's Heroes which REALLY got me heavy into punk rock circa 1979-1980; I saw SLF twice in 2 successive nights at The Whisky A-Go-Go in Los Angeles, fall of 1980; I was 2 months out of High school and slept in my car off the sunset strip just to see 'em 2 times.
All the best punk rock came out of England, IMO......Dead Kennedys and a few others from the states aside.
This was there best aknowledged album by many Metal fans and i must say my vinyl copy has worn out
( not sure if i said that right, anyway you knwo what i mean)
(strocube @ Feb. 21 2010,23:59) Holy shit, you guys got me going on this thread.
Iggy Rocks, man...... can you believe he was doing that punk rock stuff in 1969?
Now I wanna be your dog??
hahahha, parents hated that fucker and rightly so!!
I know, man. Back in the day if the music you were listening to did not scare the shit out of you parents it wasn't worth listening to. Mine came form a conservative, bourgouise, Latin American, catholic background so it wasn't too hard to rattle them.

Strocube....if you like Jello and the boys you must like this band; from Vancouver in Canada, they [along with Black Flag] pretty much invented the term and the genre known as ''hardcore''.
This was another one that was in the cassette deck quite often when me and my hooligan buddies used to cruise around circa high school days and shortly afterwards...I saw 'em in Boston a few times back then, very tight and fast band
Tomcat man, you GOTTA meet me in Montreal some day.....I know a great metal nightclub there which hasn't changed since I first discovered it in 1985; very dark, loud, smelly bathrooms, unwashed and tattooed patrons, cheap beer, graffitti, no attitude or trendiness; just great metal music and cool people, open from 3pm to 3am every night; a classic bar, one of my favorites in the whole world;
(JaiDee @ Feb. 21 2010,19:03) This thread will be for albums.... music-changing, fashion-changing, life-changing albums, the best ones of all time; or, if you prefer, just albums that have changed YOUR life or made you feel better just by listening to them.
To find the cover photo of your favorites, simply go to google and type in the album name and then click on Images; save the photo to your drive and send it up with your post.
While this album would never be considered a classic musically, the influence it has had on 33 years worth of fashion and alternative music to follow can never be overstated;
Excellent way to kick off the the thread Jai Dee. Like a lot of people this album totally blew my mind.
Steve Jones was on the radio here, on a now defunct station, for a while a few years ago. He did a mid-day show called Jonsey's Juke Box. It was fucking great. Besides really cool music, he did some interesting interviews. He even interviewed his old mate, John Lydon.

I started with the Pistols album because it changed the whole game at that time; fashion, music, attitudes, etc......everything. They started a trend in clothing that still goes to this day {who else has done THAT??} and also lead the way for bands like Nirvana and Green Day and way before that The Clash and the Jam and ....well, you could go on forever.'
Musically talented? probably not...... highly Influential on the future of music? for sure.....

You got it spot on there. Most of the smaller London Venues have been torn down now that had the true Rock and Roll ambience. What a shame.
I love live music and sounds like you found an old school venue up there in the frozen north. You never know one day i might drop in..
Off home now.. ill have to dig out my Iron Maiden T Shirt and get the headphones on.
Ya mon, you would love this place ....and it's not small, it has 3 rooms and holds about 700 people all told...I saw The Damned in there in the 90's, fucking brilliant.....it's close to my home so my friends and I have been there at least 100 times, with of course 90 of those just being totally lost in the memory bank LOL
I am always looking for dives like that wherever I go; found a few in Amsterdam, also in Prague .....and my buddy Mai Kee took me to one in staid ol' Vienna last year believe it or not!! Great place, leathers, jeans and black concert t-shirts were the only fashion.
Read the top review for the Cross Club man, it's fucking crazy there!!!I've been there 3 or 4 times, it was surely designed by some guy on acid;
