Nice to see you ignore my question and just post more anti-Fox rhetoric without realizing that you can change the channel.

Posts are normally edited for being "off topic", "abusive of other posters, especially in the third person", or a combination of other reason(s).  You can work out why your post(s) might have been edited (if they were).

As this is a thread about FOX "News" which I started, here's another on topic post, which does not abuse or criticise other posters.

Fox is mildly amusing, even if it does "lie" most of the time. Coulter is a hottie!  Her "articles" are side side-splitting funny! She drives some nice cars, what's not to like.

8 Reasons Fox Is Not a News Organization
      http://www.alternet.org/story/143456?page=entire
By Adele Stan, AlterNet. Posted October 24, 2009.

PR for the GOP? Yes. Platform for right-wing hatemongers? Definitely. But a news organization? Definitely not.

Even before Barack Obama was elected to the presidency, Rupert Murdoch had declared war on him via the personalities of Fox News Channel, a subsidiary of Murdoch's media conglomerate, News Corp.

Since Obama's election, the cable channel's hosts and paid analysts have launched a full frontal assault on the president, smearing his nominees, calling him a racist and suggesting that his administration was trying to persuade disabled veterans to off themselves.

Now the fearmongers at Fox are crying foul since the president and his aides declared Fox not to be a news organization. Earlier this month, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn called Fox an "arm" of the Republican Party. Obama went even further, suggesting this week that Fox "is operating basically as a talk-radio format," and we know what that means: A format in which the most provocative opinions dominate the discourse and facts are optional...... more at the link....

      1. Glenn Beck, the community organizer--
      2. Fox's alliance with the corporate-funded astroturf group Americans for Prosperity --
      3. On-air fundraising for Republican PACs --
      4. Bill O'Reilly, stalker of those whose opinions he doesn't like --
      5. Sunday talk-show host who promotes Republican falsehoods --
      6. Fox News anchors, show hosts and pundits parrot GOP press releases, or just make up stuff --
      7. Fox News hosts urge viewers to join a particular political group --
      8. Glenn Beck, deranged inventor of paranoid conspiracies --

That was good for a laugh. My posts are "abusive" and they might not have been edited at all. Yeah, I have a long history of abusing people on this forum.

Love it....I cannot recall you ever being abusive of anyone...I think the editors need to get rid of those rose colored glasses.

Torurot, I suppose it's ok for MSNBC to openly support liberal causes...at least in Adele Stan's opinion. This thread is excellent....I just love to hear all that whining about Fox News. Ohhhhh...poor picked upon liberals....waaaaa...waaaaa...waaaaa....bunch of crybabies....ohhhh Fox News has stolen our ratings...waaaaa...waaaa...waaaaa.      One conservative TV station appears on the scene in 50 years of TV and the liberals cry foul.   lol!!!

Bit of an omnibus answer to your question:

Fox (the spin begins here) is "entertaining", in a train wreck kind of way but it's not News!

One of the articles I posted said that Fox (the spin begins here) in the USA only has 3 million viewers??, although it's reach worldwide is much wider, and often carried in other countries on "Free to air" channels.

As far as I can see most US media is pretty biased one way or the other, but Fox (the spin begins here) takes the biscuit for deception and shonky outrageously biased spin. Such a polarised country. Do you HONESTLY think that many of it's knuckle dragging mouth breathing audience can tell that they are only getting a twisted spin?? Honestly??

It's tiring to watch as you keep realising "no it isn't" moments all the way through. Wonderful as a propaganda arm.

I still like watching Coulter, and CoxComb is good when he's good. Entertaining yes, News it is not!!

What you need is a good dose of MMP or STV as a voting system, getting rid of that appalling 2 party system.

Once upon a time the British BBC was pretty good, CNN when it first started wasn't bad.

Pity you can't get Al Jazera in the USA. The KL news centre is mostly run by Aussies and Kiwis. The Boss is a Kiwi Woman!

What I don't like is Fox (the spin begins here) extreme bias, lies, misrepresentation and spin.

I don't quite get the reference to "liberal" whining? You mean they can't say that Fox (the spin begins here) is biased?

What would be liberal is if the USA ALLOWED Al Jazeera to broadcast. As I understand it permission has been denied. Why?

I notice that internet TV is about to take off in Europe in a big way in the next two years. and i assume that you good folks in the USofA will probably get the same... are they rewiring you guys up over there for fast access or has it been done

Anyway the point is that Political channels will proliferate and keeping the likes of AL Jaz out will be a task. One supposes that once the Aryan Brotherhood start streaming we will wonder what the fuss was about...

Al J became available in the US approximately a month ago IIRC. One of it's top reporters is an ex Marine with 15 years service- I can't see him banging on a muslim adgenda. To me, PERSONALLY, it's the best news service available at the moment. I won't enter the 'Faux' debate as one is flogging a dead horse when trying to discuss it objectively with 'The Cousins"
I couldn't give a shit how long it is until you're next holiday- I live here

In the debate about political news:

Those here old enough to remember the "cold war" times, will certainly remember the biaised news reporting we had in the western world.
The soviets were always the designated evil, and when the soviet regularly complained about this or that story being a setup or staged, they were ridiculed in the western media.

Today, we know that most of the soviet complaints about manipulations were indeed justified.

So I still expect much of what we hear see and read today about the political enemies of the western world to be full of bullshit.

see also the famous video of the kuwaiti girl in 1991, the weapons of mass destruction, etc.

So the Soviets never airbrushed guys out of there photos and we had honest reportage from the hammer and sickle...

(alan1chef @ Oct. 27 2009,00:02) Smuttley my friend, our criticism of Obama is mild compared with the flame throwing you and the rest of the liberals on this forum did in that thread about Bush. That's also where everyone started calling me names...like "wannabe chief"...lol. I never resorted to name calling...what's the point anyway? The Democrats are famous whiners...have been for years...always complaining with never a good idea in their heads. I've tried to be understanding of you...after all you root for the Lions and Michigan football has not been very good for years now...they miss Bo.

                        <
Wannabe (and never will be)chief............once again a pathetic attempt to dig at me using football as a crutch.........obviously in your reich wing myopic views THE University of Michigan only plays football (at home before the largest crowd every saturday) but you fail to recognize that year in and year out they consistently they finish in the top 5 in the Sears Director Cup standings, they consistently have a top 5 NCAA hockey team, and now their basketball team has once again returned to the top. Besides last years 3-9 was the first losing season since 1967 and the first time out of a bowl since 1976. Besides that it was only 2006 that M went 11-2 and 2008 they beat defending national champ Florida in the Citrus Bowl.

But keep trying to dig away wannabechief it just shows how pathetic the reich wing has become.

Try real hard to stay on track wannabe, not that difficult

Al Jazeera, bring them on!! The more "diverse" opinion the better IMHO!! Have you not seen MSNBC?? The bottom line is the left HUGELY resents Fox's success-no matter how it is measured. The visual media has been left, left leaning for years and years and years. I saw Leslie stall interviewed and they asked her , "Where there any conservatives at CB news?" She said, "Yes." The retort was, "Name one." Cue the ralph Kramden moment, " HUMADA, HUMADA, HUMADA........."

The liberal mantra used to be, "I dont agree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it." thats not the case anymore. There are many leftists that would wish to use this bogus "fairness doctrine" to silence Fox on the visual media side and successful talk radio which is decidedly right wing.

The left has has a virtual monopoly for YEARS. it has a chink in its armor and the left cannot stand it. They complain about Fox like a 6 year old having a tantrum......

I can't see where everyone gets the idea that "the left" resents the supposed sucess of faux news? First and foremost most everyone I know ignores faux news and pretty much disregards it. Ruppert Murdoch is a Ted Turner wannabe and the only reason the network survives is because the psychos and bluehairs on the right watch it 24/7. Anyone with more then a right wing myopic view generally sticks with their favorite local news and the national news that transcends into it. IE: Watch your local morning news and then either the Today show, Good Morning America etc

If you have digital cable you have to search through your guides just to find faux news. During the Presidential campaign I would peruse all networks that would show both sides and that generally consisted of the main networks and CNN, never faux news and never MSNBC.

It's a losing arguement from the right that faux news and oxycodone rush are significant because they are only in the eyes of those who watch it, which is actually far fewer then some patrons of this board would lead you to believe. And all the Obama administration has done by their supposed boycott is add fuel to the tiny flame of support the right hopes to get.

As far as wannabe's (and never will be) contentions that how the radical right is portraying Obama is consistent with how dumbass dubya was treated it only goes to show how narrow minded, bigoted, and completely void of any clue he really is. The outward completely racist comments and portrayals are way over the top and show the complete frustration of the right that they are going down in obscurity. Nobody is "whining or crying" wannabe nearly as much as you and peroxide blonde are trying to substantiate something you haven't got a prayer of substantiating.
