Fox is great entertainment and is my 'news' channel of choice in a hotel room because it doesn't have those fucking annoying 5 minute gaps to scroll through the weather in fucking Mumbai or other crap shitholes around the world.

Fox is non stop telly and bloody good stuff to boot. Fair and balanced? Well, nobody believes that, surely!

CNN hasn't got any American presenters on it anymore and the BBC can only handle one news story a day! Boring as a turd.

Ahhhhhhhhh I thought it was 'Faux News' that's where I've been going wrong I must admit that Al J is my favorite at the moment, it seems to give the most unbias reporting at present. BBC has lost its touch and concentrates too much on the sub-continent for me. It pisses me off when the weatherman shoots straight from Oz to India as well

Well, I'm going to drop one more turd into this punchbowl & then leave the party. Cos no one's mind is going to be changed & this is about venting.

Pigdogg has enunciated, & accurately illustrated, most of my points anyway: Fox viewers/pundits would come down so hard on us ladyboy lovers that it would whiplash you 6 ways to Sunday. Today they were going after the current trend in the U.S. of being lenient on medical marijuana usage, they abhor gay marriage & gay servicemen/women (How many vets on here... Hands up! Are you a threat to our national security?)

Mostly my concern really is the consistent emotional tenor that rules Fox's discussions on air, reflected by Fox's defenders here doing their namecalling at us already, rather than a fair discussion of the issues.

I know for a FACT that the guests on Fox are prompted to ramp up their rhetoric on air by the show producers, in their earpieces, & if they don't comply they aren't invited back again. The result is emotionally engaging TV that has people more & more polarized, & fearful. My aging mother is now petrified that the government is going to take away her insurance & let her die from benign neglect soon. I tell her it's not true & then she turns on Glenn Beck raving about death lists & black helicopters &

Even the "teases" & headline text boxes are consistently worded with suggestive phrases with a "?" Very rudimentary thought control/suggestion techniques.

Exactly thats why this is old hat and should be given a rest. Noones going to change their views. People don't even take the time to read other opinions most of the times, as they just want to vent their own.

This is clearly outlined in the outfoxed video I posted. they interview some of those not invited back and talk about how the guest were steered or told what to talk about.

Dont have CNBC in my Thai Hotel..., when im in town, i used to love the Jay Leno show and Conan O B( on occasion though he used to make the occasional uncalled for snide anti Brit remark which one endures)

As for Al Jaz... its pretty well educated but again one has to read between the lines unless you face Mecca five time a day. If Fox news twanged their bias a bit more subtle like these guys then they really would be a worry for the Dems.

     Back to the point; if liberal media is so biased, why is it when I turn on my car radio in the daytime literally EVERY talk station is slanted right?  Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, Ingraham, Beck, etc...... whack job right-wing lunatics each and every one.  Trying to find a moderate or  left-leaning radio station isn't even possible, there are just none out there;  so where is the liberal bias, on TV networks like ABC or CBS  which I will never watch, or papers like the NY Times which I will never read?

Right-wing response; "well, you had your chance with Air America, and that liberal station didn't work'';   which, errrrmmmm.....proves my point?

I do not see any left wing bias in the media, what I see is a center-right corporate bias, except for Faux, which is basically far-right propaganda.
Faux panders to uneducated, white conservatives.
Faux have dedicated themselves to doing everything in their power to attack the president and his administration at every turn. I think the administration is right to challenge these clowns. They need to be called out on their lies and distortions.

It's amazing the difference in tone between they way they covered the shrub and they way they are covering Obama. These people at Faux are a bunch of fascist tools.

To answer a question from a someone's post, yes, people do take them seriously. That's what's really scary, there are legions of people in this country who are ill-equiped for critical thinking, so they believe what they see and hear on Faux.
Just look at their ratings, they are the highest rated cable "news" source in the U.S.

Yes I agree that mainstream media, CBS, ABC, and NBC are left wing biased to an extent but any liberal biases pale in comparison to the over the top right wing mantra of the faux new network. The only liberal that they ever had on the network was Colmes who was such a sissy he was laughable.

Just today ABC's This Week had Laura Ingraham, who flys so right she literally goes in circles, from faux news and she couldn't even make any points because of her pisspoor right wing biases. Even ultra conservative George Will ignored and wouldn't support her pathetic commentary. But of course this was probably a setup by liberal ABC.

Talk radio is relatively new to the news media scene. Yes, Air America failed horribly and the VAST majority of the hosts are right wing. You have to ask yourself why?? I will be damned if I know. If the administration wants to ignore Fox, the thats fine. As long as they dont attempt to silence/hinder it. thats a huge mistake IMHO and just plain WRONG. I really think that you guys are dead wrong when you say the only ones watching Fox are west Viginian, hillbilly, inbred, Klan luvving, one eyed cousin fornacators. I just think its wrong. How do you think the left would ahve responded if a bunch of public school kids would ahve sung songs extolling the virtues of the previous administration??? thats just for a start. You cannot tell me there is a heavy left leaning bias in the TV media. So Fox was/is a reaction to it. Dont even get me started on the nations newspapers. There is only a handful that have a right leaning editorial board. Is not "diversity" of opinion a good thing or is it only good when the thinking goes the same way you think??? It scares me when i hear people say things like "intentionally distort", "lie', "propaganda". Its like excuse to shut down a point of view and thats facism.
