I voted No the first time because i didn't understand the treaty, and the second time cause when i vote No, i mean No.

The Presidents of both Poland and Czech have still to sign the treaty, but some politians in Czech are holding back on the treaty cause they have a legal point to sort out.

I won't say i am sorry for voting No especially when we got a group of fucking Assholes running the country, nevermind bring on a General election, and everything will be sorted.

        (Tomcat @ Oct. 05 2009,17:29)
(whore @ Oct. 04 2009,23:57) The information is out there, you just got to do abit of reading up about it.
So the UK has a population on 60 Million... how many people here actually understand what is going on... not many.., 10%.. or less

The average guy in the street does not have a clue how the whole shebang works and even the educated fellows in Academia have a hard time trying to grasp the issues

What kind of Democracy is that may i ask.
Just read what I said, the info is out there. Your there saying how many people understand, but whos fault is that? Is it the EU's, hell no. As I said the information is out there. How many of those 60m people in the UK would be bothered to find out about the EU, not many, so its there fault for being lazy.

Am an avergae joe you speak of, and I didnt know much about the Lisbon, until I took the time, to look at all the indepented, non biased websites with all the info about the Lisbon treaty and EU.

How many of these sites have you read Tomcat?

And another thing, you should never bit the hands the feeds you. Might get some flake for this, but the UK is probably in the second worst position finacially then another EU member state. Obama is planning on setting up a new G20 type group, which will be called G4 and the UK will be left out of that cause there not in the Eurozone. The UK gdp deficit is currently floating at about 12.9%. Which I think is about double the next highest in the EU. When the UK needs money, like Ireland did to bail out our banking system, who is going to bail them out. The ECB will.
I know you still read here, checking my every post like the psychotic stalker that you are

Just to understand what the EU Commission is all about alone requires a degree in Politics...unless its just me ..i doubt it

You only have to read the wiki entry to realize that its a complete complicated mess..

im with you TOMCAT,so what the fuck was the first vote about?whats the point in letting people have a say if all you do is ignore their wishes,so how about if we apply these rules to everything else in life,eh? what kind of a world would this be?.....i will tell you, anybody remember WW2 ? dont let anybody assume that this will never happen again, because it will.the whole thing stinks, and another point,Mr Tony Blair done a great job of fucking up the uk while on his own personal mission, now this crank is about to take up a seat which could enable him to expand his disastrous power crazy ideas,i would much rather see someone from another country take the post
anybody who doubts this then think about it,this is the guy who told bare faced lies to his people about the most serious matter since ww2.....Iraq.now is this the guy you want to chair the EU?
fuckin hell the world could be on a very bad course.

european union is not a bad idea in itself, but why the fuck does it have to begin to consume everything in its path?
i could be wrong but i can only see more minuses than plus the deeper europe goes, instead of unity more division, there will be trouble in the future, the crazy thing is there need not be if europe was stopped now and left as it is.

100% true but where do you think the people responsible for this mess are going to go after they are dumped out of power in the UK?

Straight to Brussels to see if they can create another disaster in the name of "social justice" and not have to worry about pesky things such as elections.

I think it's great you took the time to look at the treaty but answer me this, don't you think the whole Euro Zone should have been given a vote on creating a Federal European Super state not just one country, (twice becasue they didn't vote the correct way the first time).

Your probably refering to Tony Blair with getting the big job in Brussels. I honestly dont believe that he was responsible for this finacial crisis. I blame the banks. Me being Irish, I actually like Tony Blair, although people from the UK might blame him for this and that. Like any politician he will always be disliked by some people for tough decisions he had to make while in power. Thats all part and parcel of his job. But he done alot for the peace process in Northern Ireland so I like him for that.

This whole thing your saying about a federal super power is abit much. Yes the EU will have an army, but what will they be doing? Military forces under the EU flag are only involved in one thing right now, and thats patrolling off the coast of Somalia to catch pirates. Is that such a bad thing? There will be increased military spending from EU member states towards this EU army. Recently the Irish government invested money in this new EU army along with other member states, which was for research and development with regards to protecting vechiles from IEDs. Is that such a bad thing? With regards to Ireland, that money invested wasnt taken from healthcare or education. It was taken from the military budget itself.

But Ireland had a choice whether to invest money in that. Your government always has a choice in these matters. In the treaty it talks about armed aggression against any member states and says that an EU army will protect any member state against it, but any member state can opt out of any military acts if they so choose and lets be honest here, what are the chances of armed aggression, ie someone invading an EU country. Not likely.

All this treaty is about, is making the EU run smoother. They will be able to make decisions much quicker. But all the important decisions that will effect you will be taken by your government. All issues regarding taxation still rests with each member states government. That was one of the lies told by the no campaign here in Ireland. Unfortunaly some people believed it and let us not forget, the people who were telling the irish people these things are a political party that has its own illegal military wing. All the main people in this party have some ties to terrorists. Arthur Morgan who spent time in prison for trying to blow up a british gun boat. Mary Lou McDonald who actually got married to her terrorist husband while he was behind bars for killing a police man. All these people are in government here and all said vote no. MI5 actually said recently that these people pose a greater threat to the UK than Al Qaida and you want to take there side on something that would actually help prevent a terrorist attack on the UK?
