sorry to all you Manchester lads  {Hi, Davey}  but the little guy from the P.I. drilled your man last night in a 2nd round KO after moving up FOUR weight classes just to have a shot at him and didn't dissapoint in a fight in which he was clearly favored.

  I'm not a big boxing guy myself,  I don't like seeing 2 people kick the shit out of each other and always skip Muay Thai matches when in Thailand, but I did follow the lead-up to this fight and watched it late last night  [yawwwwwnnn]  with my brothers and some friends and that little dude has to be the fastest MFER  I've ever seen.

   Manny deserves to be the champ  in 4 weight classes, and pound-for-pound has to be one of the best ever.  Hatton.....retire, enjoy getting a nice tan in that lovely northern England weather, and save your brain cells.

I rode a bus with a bunch of Filipanas a few months ago, and all the could talk about was Manny. And after that fight, I can understand why.

I'm a big fan of Ricky Hatton but now is probably the time to retire , he's had a decent innings .

Get a tan I think he uses undercoat instead of suntan lotion .

Yeah it was sad to watch Bill Walton in his prime. For a couple of seasons, he was the best center ever.

Not being able to jump never hurt Larry Bird.

Some of those Eastern Europeans playing the NBA nowadays are sure helping put some Whitey back into basketball.

To me though basketball is basically boring. Something to fill in the time until Football gets back.
I was pretty upset the other night when the playoffs preempted "My Name is Earl".

as  I said I am not a big boxing fan and hadn't really heard much of either one of these guys until recently .... then as the pre-fight hype started to come on I watched Manny do some work on his previous opponents in highlight films and realized that yes, this ending would be a foregone conclusion. man, that little guy is one fast fucker with his combinations.

   But that's why the put on the fight, yes? with a 14-point spread 2 years ago in the super bowl how many people really thought the Giants had a chance?

I stayed up for the Manny v Hatton Fight which started at 4-30am and didnt last much longer  

I watched it on Supersport 1 which is an Albanian Sat Channel which had American Commentary.

The Commentary team were "gobsmacked" and "bewildered" that 25,000 Brits would take the trouble  to travel across the pond to support Ricky Hatton even though the capacity of the Arena was only 17,000.

Manny also had a good travelling support  from the P.I.

Their piont was that American Boxer's have few if "no" support at all when fighting off their own patch

Guys the fight was not a "forone conclusion" to the public. Although I readily predcited a Pac Man KO (albeit on another forum) thePaC Man was only a 2-1 favorite. The betting line that the fight would end within the distance was a little less than even money. So if youse all thought it was a slam dunk-you should have put down some serious large on the fight. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

BTW I won about $2,000 ona fight in 1989 or so. That was a big score-had some inside info!!! But the last fight I bet on was when Lennox Lewis fought Evander Holyfield years ago in New York. I bet $700 to win $500. Lewis "won" but he got robbed as three blind mice called it a draw!!
