  • Personally I despair at the political state of the UK

Any New Labour member should be shot for what they have turned the country into. The Conservatives are just as bad and offer nothing but more of the same. And they are all pigs feeding at the trough.

And then parties like BNP are just post a few headline grabbing policies but really have no background, personalities or strong enough manifestos to be able to lead a country like Britain with a decent, respected leader. Call it hysteria but they have questionable backgrounds and motives.

The world has moved on a lot in the last decade or two, globalisation is here to stay whether Britain likes it or not. The BNP have very insular policies that would effectively turn the UK into a backwater.

And I'm no namby pamby, just a realist, my personal views are stronger than many of the BNPs.

(robbo @ May 21 2009,09:14) what i find funny now is that they are going to have a get together at buck palace with good ole queenie and other ponces..............the uk gets funnier and funnier as it steers a course from the sublime comedy of errors and fraud lies and bullshite.............to the ridiculous, prince phillip will no doubt be there, one wonders if the young jovial princes will come along to in their nazi uniforms ...................................mayby queenie could invite mugabe as she did knight him
        It makes me so mad....

Millions of people would give a limb to live here and all you can do is knock it..

Well you really know what to do if its such a shithole...
i bet this fool would not say the likes of this in thailand about there royal familly??? he would find his sorry ass in jail for a very long time

        • Different country - different rules. You adapt and behave accordingly.

I would rather live in Thailand and keep shtum about some things than live in the UK and live in their rather misrepresentative version of 'democracy.'

I feel as though I have more personal freedoms in Thailand. Who knows whether I have or not, because I haven't put them to the test...

I'd probably be socially exiled in the UK for having a pretty 22 year old transsexual girlfriend and we'd both be humiliated and under scrutiny.

Here I'm just a target because I'm a dirty white foreigner!

Nowhere is perfect but in my own opinion Thailand offers me more in terms of personal fulfillment and a happy life and future.

thankyou stogie...your are right you did read my post and a little bit further on from it,unlike donnnnnny who just reads some words and obviously takes them all literal.
i do know what i can and cant do and say in the uk and thailand so dont call me such a fool donnnnnny, speaking of fools perhaps if you are such a great pal of the royals here in england then you can pay my share of the taxes as well as your own out of your income every month that get given to them so they can live a luxurious preferential life....whos the fool then?ive said this before to someone and they didnt seem to get back to me with an answer...........strange that,is it that they rather they didnt have to pay extra taxes out of their hard earned cash?............if its a problem  donnnnnny you can allways pay me direct.............you reimburse me for what i dont want..would you rather pay me by cheque every month or by card? or direct debit? im very easy going as long as payment reaches me every month.

If it is so shit here, why do you stay?
No other country allows you to call it rotten. As donnnnny said, try it in Asia or Arabia and see what happens.

As to my "luxurius" lifestyle, i work 6 days a week, up to 80 hrs. a decent lifestyle is available if you are prepared to work and stop whining anout how bad it is all the time

                  • Working 80 hours a week is NOT 'a decent lifestyle.'

I guess some people have different ways of looking at things.

oh dear another guy who has trouble reading,do you find it possible to read the entire contents of something? i wonder, i bet you dont when it comes to your flight ticket how about applying those hard earned skills to other words in print? is it feasible?
i did not attempt to comment on your lifestyle or any other BM..........read the post again.
and to answer your question, why dont i leave the uk if its so shite here?
for myself leaving and setting up home in another country is not very easy for me at this moment but i am working towards it thankyou, and no thanks i do not want to live in any arab shitehole the only time i set foot there is for 1 hour while i connect to bkk.........thats 1 hour more than i like. im not really looking at any asian country to relocate to either so thats given you a straight answer.
ive spent 20 years setting up my business here and maintaining it ,its seems you yourself do indeed work hard, but at least you get a day off in the week........i often dont get that.
i have my family here and have had many family woes over the past few years,i am needed by my family here for the time being,i put them first for now.
i also have other issues around leaving the uk for somewhere else but i am certainly not about to go into anything personal with someone that cannot even read properly ,otherwise i run the risk of ending up like someone like you.

                            • I was in daily contact with expat poms at my place of work & the subject of why they migrated & what was their opinion of the experience was a constant theme in our conversations.

For those who think the UK is still the best place to live, yes, there were a couple over the years who couldn't settle in Australia & moved back.

But they were far & away in the minority, most were overjoyed (no, that is not overstating their view) about the climate, the opportunities & the experience of living in a classless society.

Most express real fear that Australia runs the risk of becoming another Britain if we don't 't control the influx of 3rd world migration. And they are not shy to spruik their opinion.

These people supported our last prime minister overwhelmingly but they couldn't stop the government changing hands & our Labor Party is now walking the fine line in obeying our international treaty obligations & appeasing the electorate.

We have watched the troubles develop in the UK & thanks to the absolute botch-up that New Labour has made of it, there is next to no chance that Australians will ever allow it to happen here.

I admit that moving to another hemisphere is tough when you leave behind the support network of family & friends but once established, few seem to regret the shift. The quality of our health care & education systems are better than the UK, that is the general consensus, & the lifestyle afforded by the climate is on another level completely.

Here at home, it has rained maybe 4 times this year, the past 2 days we have had a winter storm, but the rest of the time, sunny blue skies are normal. Last week the beaches were busy & they are in the metro area, a 30 minute drive is considered a long way to go to the beach.

And holidays in LOS? Flights every day - 6 hours to Phuket & 7 to Bangkok from my home & the prices are cheap. My latest ticket was FREE, apart from taxes.

Think about that the next time you complain about the government, the weather, the illegal immigrants, the towns that no longer have English as the first language. There is an alternative - come here & learn to say "g'day mate, how ya goin'?"
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
