Its  very similar in australia, where  so called assylum seekers  come  via  indonesia  to  australia  via  boat, why, whats wrong with  indonesia? ill tell you, the  government of indonesia will give you  fuck all there and the so called asyluym seekers  know it.

If the population shrinks, this creates problems for the workforce, pension support, etc. Most developed countries face this problem. Women in developed countries don't like to have more than 1 or 2 children at the most.

Since you cannot force women to have big families, the only other option is immigration. The major problem is how to implement it.

The UK gov't went with an open doors policy and it has created more problems than solving them. Voting in the BNP is not a solution because shutting down immigration will only create another problem in the future.

Democracy works best when people participate - and that means more than just voting in a party. Of course this also means work and making intelligent decisions. What do you think would happen if say 10-15 riding executives in the Labor and Conservative parties were changed to executives who would nominate candidates that wanted rational and good government? That would be the beginning of true change for the better, and not simply voting for a right wing fascist BNP.

A bit of oversimplification there donnnny. Big barriers to Japanese immigration happen to be language - very few immigrants can speak Japanese. The flip side to that is very few Japanese can speak English or other foreign languages.

That alone is a major barrier for anyone who wants to immigrate to Japan.

Japanese are already realizing their problems and are starting to allow ex-pat workers into key areas where they face shortages. Nursing is a prime example - they are recruiting Filipina nurses and teaching them Japanese on arrival.

Of course they are and as well they should. I'm in Thailand where I am destined to be a second class citizen for the rest of my stay. Even if I achieved the impossible task of legal naturalization I would still be thought of as an outsider and an unwelcome one at that.

The Thais have immigration whipped. They allow almost nobody in unless they absolutely need the skills or get showered with cash.

The plain truth of the matter is that in Thailand to live here you have to integrate. And if you live here you have to find a way to pay your way. No cash hand outs for me when I came here. No free housing and clothes and medications... No food when I was hungry and no shelter when I was cold.

This (Thailand) is still probably the finest, safest most peaceful country on earth... and they did it without throwing open their doors to people who they knew from the get go would never fit in.
