this was an interesting thread until dieter joined in.
im a bit new around here, but rocket science aside, i presume dieter is german.
therefore nothing to do with the BNP.
now, im not one to hold a grudge about the germans having a bit of a clear out, i mean after all, you cant make an omellete...................
but dieter.........get over it.
move on, it was a long time ago.....
You do realize Stoogie if the BNP get in then things like TS, TV, CD girls and ladyboys etc. what they deem as being deviant behavior will be clamped down on. There are a lot of very nasty hardcore racist still involved in that party, we are talking people with neo-Nazi sympathies - I have been to one of their red white and blue festivals (undercover lol) and the amount of blatant Nazis walking around was not surprising. The only reason they took on the position of a respectable political party is because they got beaten off the streets in the 90s by Anti Fascist Action. The original tactics of marches, attacks on minorities etc. didn't work so they switched to party politics instead.
Don't be fooled they are still a bunch of racist, right wing wankers. Back when I used to fight them in the 90s it was blacks, Jews and homosexuals who were dragging the country down, now it is Muslims - they ride on petty prejudice and cheap scapegoats to try and win power. They don't give a fuck about the working class in the UK, same as Labour and the Tories. Yeah we need an alternative in the UK but from the BNP?
And by the way this is my first post, excellent website Stoogie but fuckin dodgy politics.
A bunch of racist, right wing wankers the BNP might well be, but it is good to be able to have an open discussion about just how such a group can take advantage of the incompetence of the ruling Labour Party as well as problems with the Conservatives.
It doesn't seem as if the BNP carries much support here on the forum, but Stogie encapsulated very well the litany of policy blunders & disasters brought onto the UK by 11 years of Labour rule. Shameful.
If the GFC gets too bad & if Gordon Brown can't lift his game to limit the fallout from the financial catastrophe facing the UK, then disaffected voters may well turn to the BNP.
Now that would be a shock. If this thread has achieved nothing else, it may have shown a few the danger of complacency. For those who dismiss the BNP as only representing the lunatic fringe, WAKE UP!!
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
If this thread has achieved anything it has shown me that we can conduct sensible and well thought out threads on extremely sensitive subjects. I don't think there are many forums out there that can boast the same without some heavy handed over moderation.
I agree Labour and Conservatives are a bunch of incompetent fools, but so are the BNP, they are no alternative at all! Alternatives? Well for me I don€™t think it is found in political parties, but that is my opinion.
And I agree, we shouldn't be complacent about them. The Labour party has completely and utterly failed the working class in the UK, but the BNP don't fight for our rights at all. That little cunt nugget Nick Griffin doesn't fight for anyone but his own power and glory.

(Stogie @ Apr. 21 2009,16:58) ...and you couldn't say that about Tony Blair, could ya?
The reason why we have got to the present situation in British politics.
He was nearly as far right as Maggie Thatcher and somehow managed to fool Labour voters that he was a true red (OK pink) Labour MP.
Give him his due he did keep the Looney Left out of sight - OK except for Two Jags - can't have been easy running the country with that millstone around his neck.
Gordon Brown at least is the acceptable face of the leftward part of the party.
I have some small respect for him as he does actually come across as someone who is at least trying to be honest.
His problem is that he's in charge at the rump end of a good run and he's been left to clear up after the party is over and now the house has burnt down.
The rest of our so-called government should not be running a children's birthday party.
The Conservatives have singularly failed to make their mark in the last few years and have somehow missed the fact that Blair pulled the rug from under their feet.
They also seem to have missed the fact that Gordon Brown is being shot in the back by his own party - just like normal with the Labour Party.
Similarly they are not paying attention to what the UK public want - they are too busy sniping at a dead duck.
The Liberals as usual have just been chasing their own tails and doing their best to point out that they are not Labour or Conservative.
OK yes I think we know that - what about some polices?
It's amazing to think that this was once one of the most radical and reforming political parties in the world!
So what are we left with?
One party who stopped listening to the UK public shortly after they were elected - how many years ago?
One party who lost their way even longer ago and still have not found it again.
One party who got superceeded 80 something years ago and haven't quite worked it out yet.
Is it any wonder that the fringe parties have gained some ground?
Will the BNP be elected to Parliament? Don't be silly! Most of the British publc recognise them for what they are and will vote acordingly.
However like Stogie I am left wondering how long it is before Enoch Powell is proved to be right - as I have little doubt he was. The Rivers of Blood Speech

Pedants rule, OK. Or more precisely, exhibit certain of the conventional trappings of leadership.
