Saving Face is very important in Asia and the Orient - it is part of their culture.
In some ways I think it actually enables them to co-exist in the most populace area on the planet.
So the thread started was aimed at LB's etc BUT "saving face" applies to Business, Family and so on.
It is a 'respect' that does not exist (sadly) in the West - we really are an ignorant set of self opinionated idiots!
As an example. A kid is in class at school. The teacher is teaching but a kid wants to ask a question - 'prisoner's dilemma':
Kid asks question and makes the teacher look stupid. Loss of face for teacher.
Kid asks question and kid looks stupid in front of peers. Loss of face for student.
I have seen this in business and private life in Asia over many years (I had the good fortune to work in Asia for some years).
So Asian society believes it is better NOT to put someone in a difficult situation - how the West could benefit from such a principle. Oh yes in the West we just ridicule everyone and then run out of people to ridicule - what a noble sport!
The West suffers from lack of respect in Business, Politics, Family, School - I love the UK attitude.
If your kid vandalizes his/her home the parents take out an ASBO (Anti Social Behavioral Order) on the little shit who should have been given a good hiding in his/her early development and learnt to 'respect' his/her elders.
Of course now it is illegal to use physical discipline in the UK - we can now see the benefits of such wisdom. Kids in Asia are generally better behaved than those awful brats currently bred in Europe and the USA.
Such is the West. I prefer Asia anytime.
Oh, by the way, just because someone works in the P4P industry (to satisfy your urges/demands) do they demand less respect as people? - perhaps they should take an ASBO out on you as an asshole.........
Remember we are all prostitutes - we all sell our skills for profit - just in varying ways. Fact.
