Which ever way you look at it, for a young person who might not have been the brightest,prettiest or most talented person to walk the earth she sure as hell done something right to merit the media exposure she got before her illness and during. The best bit is how come you guys have managed to write 4 pages on jade goody on a forum devoted to ladyboys? As much as we all criticise reality tv, and i personally hate it, we are all to blame for making these people famous in the first place. There must be an element of truth in this or else the last 4 pages would not have been written!

That's the poor mans dream isn't it, to get rich quick, and that is why it's so appealing. People can imagine themselves in the same situation being able to escape their boring lives. It's the same reason people waste hundreds of dollars a week on the lottery, pokies and TAB etc. Hey if you're not in it you can't win it. When the reality is that you may as well flush your money down the drain, they have the idea that there's one more big win just around the corner that will fix everything but you never catch up. Quite often it's the people who can't afford it that get themselves in the most trouble again it's that escapist dream.
I suppose that leads me to another pet peeve of mine being pokies, I hate them. At least when gambling on the ponies you have a form guide or on poker you have rules for the game. I can understand people who get enjoyment from learning the tricks of the trade. But with pokies you are entirely relying on a computer generated program that you know is going to favour the house. I can't see the enjoyment in watching your money disappearing into a machine. I've had employees who have stolen from me because of pokie addiction.

The sad reality is that nothing in life comes easy (maybe I do if I'm with a hot ladyboy ).

As you mentioned anthony70 the media has to take a lot of the blame for glamourising mediocrity.

1) People who regard the late Princess Diana as a saint - remember that a week before she died a charity presentation had to be cancelled as none of the other personalities would be photographed with her.

4) Illiberal twats who find out I like LBs and say I should be ashamed - what? of not being in a position to breed more people like them? they think that's shameful!
