I've done my time time with the ya'all. Addiction is not good, destroys your heart.

As far as the heart attack at 39, cocaine seizures are usually (99%) from rocking it up. It's immediate and if you have any kind of heart irregularity/murmur and it hits at the right time, you'll go into cardiac arrest.

When I was 24 (1986), we happened upon a 1/4 pound of the stuff. After two days, we couldn't snort any more and rocked it up. I passed my buddy the next hit, he went into a seizure. We got him on the ground, made sure he didn't swallow his tongue, and I gave him CPR (bruised his chest). We called the paramedics and by the time the arrived, we had him up and walking. Paramedics said we saved his life. next day, he was back smoking again.

About 2 months later, a friend was in an arcade, took a hit behind a machine and croaked. He was 23.

I still snort now and then but rocking it up and hitting the pipe is immediate and can be lethal. See Len Bias.

Not at all, I DJ'd in the late 80's & was around drugs all the time, spent most of My adult life around the music scene. You either do or you dont, I chose not to !

When I lost my job a while back, I became pretty depressed. It eventually led to me doing a lot of cocaine and heroin to come out of my depression, but this only worsened it. I got into a therapy program, and this is when I decided to go back to school and become a counselor myself. So drugs have had a positive impact on my life, some might say .

Both of my brothers are on prescribed methadone to come down from their crippling addictions. My older brother was addicted to vicadyn and other pain killers and my younger brother was addicted to cocaine. I've been lucky enough to never get to the point where they were.

I occasionally smoke pot with my roommates, but only once or twice a month.

beer fags and l/bs is all i need IF i knew some one in bkk had had drugs on them i would get to pattaya i dont want them any where near me knowingly

I mean't more that attitudes change in different eras to different things .

My old mum God bless her, equates someone who takes the odd smoke of dope with someone like Charles Manson .

I've only just seen this thread, was in    when it started  

I smoked a bit of a spliff 25 years ago as I was meeting a girl in my pub that I was really into    and thought it would "perk me up" and I would be the "life and soul" of the party

Unfortunately it had the opposite effect and I became "paranoid" and spent all night asking her what she was "looking at"  

Never smoked weed or taken any other Drug for that matter since and never intend to

I use to weigh 499 pounds. So I guess my drug of choice was food. Just like illegal drugs that was my escape. Now at 6'5" and 240 I stick to rum and coke or jack and coke.

I've never done an illegal drug, but I did try salvia divinorum in 2000. Made me laugh for 15 minutes and think the bed was trying to suck me into another dimension. I haven't done anything else but booze and the occasional cigar.

I used to like the weed back in University days and beyond. Tried all the other party drugs when I wanted to party...(including a Lost Year back in 88)..

10 years ago I moved to work in Japan and any kind of drug is a big no no over there (ask Sir Paul). I haven't touched it since even after coming back.

I did try some party drugs a year back and though they were top shelf they didn't seem to have much effect (maybe cos it was very late and I was already well wasted). The next day I felt like absolute shit. Talk about a downer  

I then resolved to never touch the stuff again. Maybe the body isn't what it used to be...I stick to tobacco cigars wine and a good Single Malt..thems enough drugs for me
