cheaper than the uk still.........thats more like im saying,ive allways worked on the priciple that LOS is 3- 4 times cheaper than uk.........take p4p escorts wanting £200- 300 or more or a bottle of beer....£3.20 now in many bars here eating out £10 minimum taxi fares petrol ,hotels etc etc its still good to go to LOS but worth keeping an eye on as getting there is getting more and more expensive,and the pounds getting you far now over there.

just been looking at FX and last week saw the £ against baht at its lowest rate in over 700 days,52 baht, highest in same period was 71 baht,hoping this has now found its bottom and will begin to rise

UK economy is a total mess... not sure why it should improve

Perhaps the depreciation will reduce the amount of "cashed up bogans" that were frequenting LOS in the good times.

Yeap but as I remember Pattaya has suffered a 10% drop in numbers over recent times. So something's going on (or not going on as the case may be).

£ is down to below 55bt for the first time in a while

not getin any better,£ now down to 53 baht,its lowest level in 5 years,when you consider the average for the same period is 69 baht to the £ its a measure of just how much the fall is.my personal limit is if it hits 50 baht or less then any further hols to LOS will be off untill it gets back into the 60,s if it does.This being due to the rise in flight cost which is a sizable chunk of any guys hol budget (if he has one) los of earnings from work back home while away,and the significant increase in cost of everything in LOS by as much as 30% due to poor exhange.as much as i love going to LOS,i have other things i could spend the money on.also other countries i could go to,shame but there it is.ive put my all into having hols to LOS but i draw a line somewhere and realised that if i dont then ill be going nowhere fast!

An un-educated guess i would put the pound = 1.55 USD when the dust settles around December. probably for most of 2009.

from my small knowledge about currency its seems to be basically about investor confidence in the UK of which there is little at this moment.

I do in fact buy chunks of US dollars every week and it feels like a roulette wheel
