(Torurot @ Nov. 18 2008,14:35) You Brits & Yanks whine too mutt. If you'd always had to put up with the pacific peso your "cheap charlie" comments would be largely mute. When you say 55 bhat to 1 quid i can only think "sheer luxury"! Perspective
make me laugh, have a go at being in the uk........if you wanna know how expensive just waking up every morning can be having to generate ever increasing amounts of money just to pay the bills first, living in peso land ......is living in cheap charlie land theres just no comparison.i probably pay more for my deisel for my van each week to get to work than you spend all month for everything.
The Baht will continue to depreciate against the dollar, the reason its not faster is 1) intervention, 2) lots of foreign money has already fled the country in the last 2 years, less to flee now
I am hearing that this debacle will take 2 to 4% off the GDP next year, that tourism numbers will halve, and that over 1 million jobs could be lost (and I'm guessing thats only the legit economy)
This isn't shooting yourself in the foot, this in tying four hand grenades to the bottom of your feet and jumping up and down really hard.
