All you need is a computer wigh highspeed connection, web cam, and head set with microphone, and you should be able to score an extra $20.00 US dollars an hour anywhere. Do that on top of regular teaching gig, and you should be able to keep a girl in your bed more often or not.

Couldn't find information on their pay scale but if they are hoping to get good teachers then I don't think 20 bucks an hour is going to cut it.

When I retire from my J.O.B. over here in the USA I plan to get my TEFL certificate in Thailand, and I think if I could supplement my pension by teaching online for the equivalent in baht of $20 US per hour, I'd do it. What do private in person English tutors make per hour in Thailand?

Have you actually been successful at doing this? A few years back a Korean company had something similar where they signed up native-English speakers around the world who would have 1-1 conversations and English lessons over the net via webcam. It wasn't entirely a scam, but it closed down due to bad business practices and some investigations into its dealings. Needless to say no one made a dime. This just sounds fishy and even if it is legit, I doubt its a a solid way to make money. If they are gonna pay you $20 an hour then they have to be charging quite a bit more than that, and I don't think anyone's really going to shell out that kind of dough.

I can't comment on these two sites but I'd gladly work for
10 USD/hour teaching online. Working just one hour a day would cover my rent. Now maybe the Indians would work for 3 USD/hour but there's lots of value added having a native speaker.

Right, I don't see how an online outfit can charge a customer 40 bucks an hour when a tutor will visit your home for that price.

One major drawback to this scheme (if for real) is that you are limiting yourself to $20/hour.

A typical Wallmart employee makes only 10 bucks an hour.

Or looking at it another way, teaching for one hour a day, 5 days a week will pay for two trips a year to Thailand.

There are many highly educated people who for various reasons would be willing to work cheaply online.

Anyways, I always go with the old adage that if its too good to be true, it probably isn't!

I think there's a lot of ways to make money on the net, but there's not a lot of good AND easy ways to do so. Otherwise I'd stop wasting my hours looking at LB porn online and make some mad money!

I have used these organizations yet, but I have taught english over the telephone to organizations that did pay on time. It worked out to about 20 bucks an hour. I'm not saying that these two groups won't scam you, but there is a better than even chance that they won't. In Korea private tutoring runs 40 bucks an hour. It's the reason I am here and not in the wonderful world of LOS. Make money here, take vacations there, but should this internet thing work out...might be hanging out at Big Dogs in the near future.

Also, the job sounds easier than it is. You have to push the conversation. That is a lot of stress. Many people can't handle it.
