Part of me agrees with you about who or what really runs this country, and the world. Also, "politics" much of the time, to me looks like fucking wrassling; you know, a show with a foregone conclusion put on to entertain and distract the rubes.
However, I think it does make a difference to our lives who gets elected president. I'm thinking of appointments to the Supreme Court, the effects to the economy that an administration's policies can cause, etc. While you may be wealthy enough to be able to insulate yourself from the effects of laws and government policies, I'm sure a lot of the rest of us are not so lucky.
So when it comes time to vote I'll temporarily put aside my belief that it is all a meaningless show, and go and vote for what I think best serves my interests. After that, I'll go back to thinking that it doesn't make any difference.
