(Naang Faa @ Jun. 03 2008,18:01) Andoni Goikoetxea "The butcher of Bilbao"...fantastic!! x
Funny how the dirty players stay in the memory even more than the superstars, and the punchups more than the brilliant goals. Or is it just me?
I bet every one reading this thread (assuming you follow football at all) can vividly remember the Arsenal players swarming Van Nistelrooy after he missed the penalty. I certainly do, and I remember how he missed (he put it over the bar) - but I can't actually remember the score!

I dont like the comparisons between who was the "better" Player between George Best And Christiano Ronaldo.
Georgie Boy had to put up with the muddy pitches, the heavier Footballs and Boots before having to face "proper" Hard Guys plus his err "Diet" of "Sex, Booze and more Sex"
Give it a few years THEN compare themYour got yer Mother in a whirl
Shes not sure if your a Boy or a Girl

So many of these so called modern day stars are very limited: So from the 50s/60s a guy who played in five different positions was two footed, a great header, and captained his country to a world cup 1/4 final, losing 1-0 to Brazil. And from the modern era no doubt about it Zinadine Zidane, both of course played for Juventus.
FORZA JUVE
