I got them bad on my very first trip to BKK. A few of us were staying in the Manahttan Hotel on Suk Soi 15. We ate street food for days and it was fine. But we wanted to try some posh Thai food so we went one night to some place that we got from a guidebook. Ironic really, that that was the place that gave me the shits.
On the way back, we stopped at a bar around Soi 9 for a beer. We were sitting there when I felt a rumble and I realised an ecological disaster was fast approaching. So I set off at a trot, then a run, to Soi 15.
As I was galloping past the old Thermae Club, an absolute stunner came out of it. (I still remember her, she really was sensational). I just had to have her, so I stopped and did a lightning quick negotiation, while hopping from foot to foot. She said OK, then we set off at a sprint for the hotel. She must have thought "fuck me, this bloke's keen."
Back at the hotel I did what I had to do, then had a long shower, then we did what we had to do. All OK in the end.
BTW, for what it's worth, I usually have something that features eggs for breakfast every day in LOS, which seems to help as I've never had the shits since.
