            Most lists would include Clapton and Richards I suppose, but not for my tastes...... Jimmy Page also although I DID like some Zep stuff

Ok so I'm an old tosser but when I was at school in the sixties he was absolutely the icon.

We even had a special school rule about not having Hendrix style afro haircuts - this particular form of rebellion has now been rendered difficult by the march of time

And , Ok the next 2 guys probably aren't too well regarded as guitarists as they are such broad overall musicians and songwriters but then i have heard some great great guitar licks from both , Prince and Lindsey Buckingham i just had to give them a mention . No doubt if they concentrated on just guitar they would be amongst the best in my opinion
