  • Yeah absolutely. Synths. Motown. Go back about 20 posts and try to keep up, there's a good chap...

    • Ohhhhhh, I see. Just because some posters decided to take the thread in another direction, you feel you have license to do the same. We've exhausted all the good duets anyway...SB should kill this thread...the sooner the better.

      • I agree. The smell of attitude is overwhelming

        • Yes, I think I have read SB's thread on spelling errors too many times.

          • Oh there's nothing wrong with Herr Bear's bunch of rules regarding Her Majesty's English - it just means he also can't afford to drop a bollock.

Now run along to the kitchen young Cheffy and work your magic on a chip butty - I'm starving!

            • What a bloddy great Sunday afternoon I've had, I remember seeing this thread back in January, but didn't have the time to follow it all through. Today I have time on my hands, due to the ironical fact that I am home alone in \melbourne whilst my wife is in the DIG (soi 6), she don't even fancy LB's (it's a long story).
It has taken bloody hours to get through the whole thread, every time I got to You tube there was another great track.
              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa9B5L2k23k
What started me was the first posts about Marvin and Tami Terrel, I always had a soft spot for Kim Weston, The first record I bought was "Take me in your arms" I tracked it down on You Tube only to find Donnnny had beaten me too it.
Thanks for the memories OA NF and Donny.
I think I might be ayear or too older than you guys, it was sta press, Ben Sherman shirts and Brogues for me, Fred Perry canme a little later as did Wigan casino, I did get to The Wheel though, not from Melbourne, I lived in Yorkshire then.
How about a monthly allnighter at Guess Bar, NF do you think you could swing it with Jay?
Maybe Jim could loan his collection. I'll be back in BKK on 20 May, I've still got a few BenShermans, but I think the levi sta press will be a bit tightby now

                        • Nice to hear from you Patrick - I thought a call to close this thread by the Misery Police was a tad presumptuous. And I am intrigued as to why your missus is in DIG...

Was this really worth my 400th post? Should have saved it until tomorrow when I expect a barrage of gifts from Naang in honour of my arrival on this planet some XX years ago.

Right, I'll shut up now and enjoy the tunes...

Yes Grinder, I thought it a bit strange hat Chef should complain about a thread losing it's way on page 7!
I thought it stayed very faithful to it's real subject, Northern Soul, at least until 20 January when Depeche Mode made an appearance.
Regarding the wife's residence at the DIG, I thought Fcuk she knows about Lek!! but if so she should have gone to Pattaya, I spoke to her an hour ago and best as I can make out she hasn't been showing my photo around Guess, Obsessions etc.
The truth is less mysterious. Wife has a retail business importing from Thailand and Cambodia, which actually gives me excuses to be in LOS to buy for her.
We were in Bali for a holiday last week so she decided to come home via BKK. I usually ensure she is not in "our kind of hotel" but due to a booking stuff up by moi, she ended up at the DIG.
I am looking forward to seeing her on Tuesday and also to checking in to the DIG myself in 4 week's time.

                              • Thanks OA - big fan of Japan and was astounded when they covered ISTE - but what a good job they did. Mind you, Sylvian could sing the phone book and it would be fine by me.

Glad you didn't think I had hi-jacked the thread mate. I was just a bit slow getting back on re the synth comment you made earlier. Oh, and have we had Fontella Bass on here yet?

And good to hear everything is OK with the missus Patrick. I've booked a flight to BKK on Thursday so I may have to take my usual residence at the DIG!
