    Gee Grunyen........

Why don't you tell us what you really think man..........don't hold back

Personally I quit around ten years ago and it was the best decison I ever made. I prefer not being around smokers, don't allow it in my house, my car and really hate it when people light up when I'm eating.

Now reefer ...........thats a different story!!!!

It's good to King........no matter what the pay

Courage is being scared to death__and saddling up anyway

Billy Jaffe, Radio Voice of the Thrashers:
”I have absolutely No problem with Ohio State. It has a beautiful campus, and for a Junior College it has really great Academics.”

"Gentlemen and ladies, 'Those Who Stay Will Be Champions' is for you too. It's for every Michigan fan that's out there. When the going gets tough, you don't cut and run. It's not the Michigan way. If I heard it once from the old man, I heard it a thousand times -- when the going gets tough you find out who your real friends are, and that's why we must stay. Because there will be championships, and this staff and these kids will bring those championships here."

Like some others, gave up smoking about 15 years ago, about 2 years before my divorce  (thinks...any connection?...  my 'unreasonable behaviour' was mainly being an irritable bastard!)   Fortunately, did not re-start (smoking or marriage), although tempted many times (smoking).

Met up with this fantastic LB in Nana this week, then slightly put off by realising her being smoker (cigs) - happy she is a smoker in other way.  Got a non-smoking room at hotel, so let's see what happens when we go LT.

So Grunyen, how do you kiss the ladies when you go to Nana?
        has he yet

i only smoke when i drink, and my hangover sure gets worse.

i have a better habit though, like many of norwegians and swedes, we use 'snus. put dried tobacco under upper-lip-
can be bought in thailand too, in soi postoffice in pattaya and in soi 8 and soi 33 in bangkok.
much better than cigs, and one 'snus' is like 5 cigs, so the effect is better too, and there it has not yet been proven to cause cancer.

          Haven't been to Nana.

I can show you plenty of textboo pictures from speech language pathology textbooks of people who have had their lips and or tongue removed from getting cancer from dipping snuff.

It can cause cancer of the lip, gums, tongue, any part of the mouth. And let me tell you, no one is going to kiss you when half your jawbone has been removed and you are missing a lower lip.

If I could do that I would probably still smoke. I actually did enjoy smoking when I had a drink, but I detested doing it all the other times... but did anyway!

(ozzie @ Oct. 03 2006,08:53) I only smoke when I am on fire

Seriously though I can't stand smokey nightclubs and bars. Nothign worse than coming home smelling like and ashtray.

I however don't think bars and clubs should necessarily be non smoking as it is my choice to go in knowing about the dangers of passive smoking etc.

The places I think should be smoke free is anywhere there are children such as in cars and even homes. I know this is almost impossible to police but one of my greatest annoyances is when I see young kids in the back of the car with all the windows up and mum and day puffing away like chimneys oblivious to the harm they are doing to their children.

I used to smoke but gave up 4 years ago.

Ozzie ,the bans in Clubs and pubs have more to do with the staff who worked their and litagation concerns about passive smoke.
With my cafes , my insurence policys are now cheaper since smoking bans have come in. Also i now get more customers due to a smoke free cafe and bar area.

there are still no conclusive tests that link 'snus' to cancer. there have been 2 big reports last years. one stated it doesnt increase the risk of cancer, and the other *might* increase the risk of cancer in the pancrea(latin, i dont know the english word). outside norway and sweden, 'snus' are rarely used. it's also banned in eu, and you don't get it in uk(the customs thought it was ganya). i heard they have something similar in us - 'snuff'(?), but the real shit is 'general', 'ettan', 'grovsnus', 'røda lacket' and many more...

other "benefits", except that you get an awkward look, is that you dont bother your surroundings with smoke, and your breath and clothes doesnt smell afterwards. and the best thing, you can use it indoors in public places. this come in handy when you are in a cinema, or studying(or having an exam), sitting on the subway etc

the most negative thing about 'snus' is that you get easily hooked and it's difficult to quit. i know and know of several people that wanted to cut down and finally quit smoking using 'snus', but ended up doing both on daily basis.

Reminds me of that old joke:

Q: Do you smoke after sex?

                  A: I don't know I've never looked.

tried snus in Sweden a couple of years ago

was already drunk at the time

Christ it was strong stuff - gave me a wicked head-rush straight away (then I ran to the bathroom and vomited)

there are Swedish shops in London where they have it "below the counter". I worked with some Swedes in London who knew where to get it

When the smoking ban started in pubs in Ireland, some enterprising publicans actually started stocking up on snuff , thinking smokers might switch to it rather than go outside to smoke. However, I don't think it took off
