(Snick @ Nov. 30 2006,10:48) Which one works best with my PS3 ?
For playing video games, you want a LCD (like your computer screen), not a plasma display. Those are readily available in large sizes (40-50") at 1080p resolution and the high resolution would probably be worth the extra money for your purposes.

you know why they shops dont have the flatscreens and plasmascreens alongside the old tv's? cos they don't make up in quality yet. as for know, only a hype, and looks better, but pic quality is behind the old colortube tv's.
better to wait, new and better tvs are coming ..

I'd agree with that - my 29" Sony wega which is now in my office/study has a better picture than my Plasma, except of course the viewing area is not as large. I also think half the problem is the crap signal that you get from the host (eg UBC in Thailand) - even as a digital signal its not exactly good. Cable is even worse where I live out in the boonies.

            Cheers

It's absolutely true that analog signals frequently display less well on HD sets than do digital signals. In Thailand, given the very poor and utterly outdated technical standards of UBC, you might very well be better off with a set that is not HD. But that doesn't mean that, out there in the real world, the HD plasma and LCD displays with HD digital programming sources don't produce significantly superior picture quality to older type cathode ray type displays. They do.

Okay, I'll come clean. This is where I live:

It ain't much of a place, and I eat mostly popcorn. But, when it comes to looking at porn, there's nothing like an 80'x100' screen and the world's largest 3D screen.

Next year, I'm thinking of moving south, and taking in an Asian sensation.

Retired the top 12.  Need a new dirty dozen.

Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon.  Is it possible to find 5 more?  Until then, GGs:  Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.

Plasma is best for wide angle viewing ...e.g if you have family like the Waltons. LCD is ok if you looking straight on.

I think LCD will dissapear within 2 years.. in Europe anyway.

Seriously, I remember these TV's all too well...and my Dad working on adjustments in the back with a mirror in front and taking all the suspect tubes down to the store to test them of the free tester...That's how I learned how to swear...

I care more about what I can get with my TV's. So how many channels can you guys get? I bet I have everyone here beat when it comes to that! I have an array of satellite dishes on my roof. I can decode just about anything up there and get well over 2000 channels... all free     Unlimited Sports... I can get any game from anywhere... no black out restriction can affect me. If that's not good enough for you I get 21 channels of porn and all the PPV channels... one that even plays Brazilian Shemale movies!..  Yes movies, you name it I can get it. On my main rack I have 7 satellite receives, 2 of which are high definition. I can also digitally record anything and record it to hard drives on my home network... burn to DVD... really cool what I can do here.

Photo of, Wave Frontier Multi-Beam Antenna.

Simultaneously receives 5 satellites at the same time from one fixed position.

Signal processing and distribution control room.

This is where all the signals from the roof gets amplified and distributed to the many satellite receivers in my home. Also signals from 5 outdoor security cameras are inserted here into the network.
