Minoxidil

Does anyone know if Minoxidil liquid is generally available at pharmacies in BKK and any idea of cost? It's a substance that stimulates hair growth. (on your head )Thank you.

Its not easy to find, its not especially cheap and I have only seen the 2% solution, never the 5%.

They sell Regaine all over the place and the price is about the same as in Europe.
... and by the way it doesn't really have the effects you might hope for. The only thing - except going for implants which is by the way of course sensationally cheap in LOS, although I have no clue if they do it properly -  is to take finisteride anti -endrogene (for the rest of your life!). They sell it in LOS too, Propecia (1mg), exactly the same as in Europe, but again also nearly the same price.

Boots has regaine shampoo, but not minoxdil.
I stock up on 5% minoxdil in USA and bring to Thailand, since I can't find the 5% anywhere, and its hard to find the 2% too.

I suggest bringing a supply with you, it is not easy to find (and if you do it might just be water !!).

Propecia is available both brand name (expensive) or knock-off ( cheap )

Seriously, the last time I bought Regaine 2% solution was about 4 years ago. Just did it once, because it was nearly the same price as here. At a Pharmacy on Silom. Can't remember exactly which one, but somewhere around Patpong.
What's the name or brand for the Finisteride - the cheap one..?

Hi MK, I am not sure if there is a generic version of Propecia yet, but you can write the generic name - finasteride. The pharmacist will be able to tell you if they have a generic version available.

Minoxidil has the following disadvantage - when treatment is stopped the hair regrowth will reverse itself.

I don't think it works on more than about 20% of the users (it didn't do anything for me). On the other hand, I have found that HGH worked for me, actually thickening my hair (I have a bit of loss, but have a way to go before I get the Kojak look)

Propencia (and tits) may indeed be the only way to go for most. The problem is that the skin on the top of the head develops out of embryonic neural crest cells (on the sides of the head, its from the sort of cells in our hands and arms). The neural crest cells (brain, skin of top of head, spine, etc) are some of the most sensitive to dihydrotestosterone. The only way to get hair is to catch it before the cell dies, and prevent the testosterone from killing it (or actually putting it into a dormant state)

Have a sex change, doesnt this reverse the testosterone problem that may cause hair loss. There was a famous sex change case a few years who said that  a big thrill was growing a new head of hair .

Actually i read around a month ago that some guys in London are resorting to female hormone intake as a cure for said problem. The side effects are breasts.
