Minoxidil

Ziggy, my problem is I am an addict. The minoxdil is NOT helping me grow hair, but maybe it is slowing the loss, so I continue to use it.

I know people who had great results from the combination of Minoxdil and Propecia, but for me it did not work.

For me neither. Tried Minoxidil for 3 years - couldn't spot the difference - try now Propecia since 3 months, hair seems to be stabilized and hope I'll get some nice boobs in a few years so that I can stop spending money on all those chix with dix!

I've found that several pharmacies here (in BKK) sell proprietary Minoxidil (Noxidyl I think its called) in either 5mg or 10mg strength tablets. You can apparently crush and dissolve them in surgical alcohol and glycerol and make an almost identical solution as Regaine/Rogaine.

I spotted some 5% Minoxidil Solution in the Siam Drugs pharmacy on Patpong Road. It was the generic Thai version - not very expensive as I recall, I think it was about 700 Baht for a bottle.

Much better than crushing tablets and putting it in 70% isopropyl alcohol aka surgical spirits (which will strip scalp of its protective natural oils) and dehydrate the skin.

Mai-Kee, the propecia will not give you boobs but it may stop your prostate gland from swelling. Propecia blocks the receptor sites in the hair folica and the prostate gland from recieving DHT which causes inflamation in the hair, thus causing it to fall out. Testosterone is converted to DHT as we age causing baldness and swelling prostate.
Finesteride is usually recomended for prostate growth at a higher dosage then propecia but at a lower price. Buy the finesteride, cheaper, and cut the pill in half for treatment of hair loss.
