(vangough05 @ Feb. 10 2007,06:14)(andre459 @ Feb. 09 2007,19:30) England have won the first final.
Maybe you should have put some money on them vangough05.
What an awesome game from Paul Collingwood.
He won the game for England with a great catch, 2 run outs and a big hundred. He's a great no nonsense player.
Australia didn't score enough runs, at 1/170 we should have scored 300.

I don''t think they will win the World cup. When I bet ,I bet because I think it is a good gamble and I bet on form etc, I don't let my country loyalty or head rule who or what I bet on. There is more money to be made out of sports betting them the stock market if you get the right form and have agood general knowledge. Plus no tax is payed and if the wins are under $10,000.00aus no security or bank checks are needed. I never spread bet and I never bet on basketball or American football as i find it too complicated with spreads. I thought England could win the ODIS because Australia were focused on the Ashes which they won 5 nill and they were also more focused on the World Cup. Australia thought they were going to meet New Zealand in the finals and completely underestimated the the English team after they got beat 5 nill. They had a point to prove and Australia started to fuck around with their side and expermented with the World cup in mind. Thats why I backed England to win the finals and i thought the 7/1 in a 2 horse race was way over the odds compared to the 1/4 offered about Australia.

I feel like telling him to put something on for me as well but I suppose I don't see all the losing bets.I don't get it, is this a magic show?

Good point. With horse racing I aim over 12 months for a 35% win strike rate. I don't back favs, I dont back maiden races unless I have mail or it is my horse. I usually only back a horse where i get mail or knowledge from. Some times i pay for my information from track clockers and stable information but most times it comes from friends in the industry. I also only back horse's over 4/1 unless i am very very confident. I guess this is my system. Unlike the stock market where you can go to jail for insider information or trading, in the horse racing game thats how you stay in the game Plenty of people make money out of selling racing information, most of it is bad info. I use time, track , weight, jockey, course and inside info to balance my bets. For sports betting because your backable odds are skinny to begin with you must be very tempered how you wager. I am Brisbane based mainly and i have a good friend who supplys me all the facts and figures for the ARL and AFL such as who is injured, who may play and who won't play. I had a big bet early on in the season last year when i got inside info that Andrew Johns was coming back from injury one week early. I got $4.20 the Knights when they were on their longest losing streak in their club history. Every body thought i was insane but myself and about 16 others cleaned up. That sort of info is usually comon knowledge but obviously their was a bit of a plan happening If you are going to have a bet, think before you bet and always treat it as a gamble and only bet what you can afford to lose. It works for me and beleive me I do very well out of it. i

(katoeylover @ Feb. 20 2007,18:06) Well Guys,
With 5 straight one day-losses and now Haydyn with a broken toe, how do you see your chances for the world cup,
Or are you just giving us a sucker punch and lulling us into a false sense of security?
South Africa crack under pressure, England do not handle dry and humid pitch conditions, New Zealand have peaked and Pakistan, India and the rest well nuff said.
As i have said before Australia wanted a 5 nill white wash in the Ashes and got it. The next trophy they wanted was the World Cup.
The ODI series in Australia and NZ were to rest players and to try out newbies.
Bet against Australia at your peril
Any one who wants to bet England to win the World Cup final can name their own price with me. Most sports bookies have England at 15/1, which on form is way under odds.
250/1 in a round robin series is the right price on their real exposed and 3 year routed exposed internal form and even then they would be under the odds.
They won the ODI but thats all they have won and before they won that they were ranked last in test rated ODI countries. Against all comers they were even ranked behind Kenya. Its great to follow your nation and i do but when i bet i bet for money not for fun.

I think we are going through our own post Ashes slump.
The batting is not the problem we have scored over 300 in the last 2 games, it's the bowling that is a worry. They can't seem to build or maintain any pressure.
I haven't given up hope yet. They have been choping and changing the side all summer and as Ozzie said they rested a lot of players as well. I just hope they are firing by the start of the world cup.I don't get it, is this a magic show?

yeah and ain't that grand. Makes it easy for Australia in the RR stage.
Keeps the price even as well.
South Africa has more chance of beating World famine then they have of wining the World Cup.
I haven't had one punter lay South Africa or England with me yet.
I have had bets laid with me on New Zealand, India , Pakistan and Canada and i have laid off on Australia as I think they are the closest thing you will ever get to a moral.
If England win the cup I will pack my bags and gladly live in England for the rest of my days.
I don't think i will be packing the woolies any day soon.
