There has been so much talk about the age of the Australians and yet it is England that have the injury problems. I think England will miss Vaughan, Simon Jones and especially Trescothick. Jones gave them that extra option in the bowling last year and took some vital wickets and Trescothick gives experience at the top of the order to build a foundation. Also there are question marks over Flintoff and Giles who are just coming back from injuries and also Ian Bell who bruised his wrist. Add in the fact that they haven't had a great preparation - bad Champions trophy, thrashed in a warm up game and only two 3-day matches and I think things look grim for England.
But that all goes out the window once the first ball is bowled.
I think Australia are a lot more focused and determined then they were last year, we became a bit complacent last year especially after winning the first test. We also have a better squad of bowlers to pick from this time, last year when McGrath was injured some of the other players didn't stand up.
Hopefully we can see some tight games again but this time with a different result.
We need Vaugh05 to give us some odds.
