I imagine there's quite a few dudes around here who've been through the big D. My wife is getting older, fatter, and bitchier by the year. I'm 5 years into the marriage and I'm already sick of her. I want to keep the house; she can have everything else, as long as she gets the hell out.

Anybody get through a divorce "successfully"? (yeah, I know, all divorces are successful, by definition ) I mean, did you get out of it without losing everything? If so, how?

I hear that. I really love my house, but I stand to inherit somewhere around a million bucks when my mom kicks -- probably not for a few years. My wife knows that and still she's a complaining bitch. I really don't want my wife to have a dime of that money and if I dump her before I inherit it, she won't.

just dumped mine. didn't get screwd and am not screwing her over in fact she thinks that she owes me alot. am doing more then right by her with child support. keeping her on my medical insurance and helping her buy a car and eventually abigger place when my kids get older. so far she hasn't lost it but i have a feeling things might change when she sees me with another women eventually. i will try and not let that happen but i am not going out of my way to avoid her when i am out with a new fuck. what really pisses me off is i had to give away my dog. i loved that damm thing best dog i ever had...

I'm in California, community property state. I know she gets half of everything accumulated since we got married. I wish she'd take the cash on hand and investment accounts and piss off. She probably won't though. The idea of me banging someone new in "her" house will drive her nuts.

Thing is, my mom *loves* her, since she never had a daughter and my wife is great at kissing ass when it suits her. Tough thing will be to get out without pissing off mom and losing out in the future.

From somebody who left a loveless and miserable marriage and allowed guilt to make him try and do above and beyond to make up for it follow these steps:

1. take every cent you own now and put it somewhere she can't touch it.

2. tell her you're going and go

3. as soon as she knows you have everything that isn't tied down, offer to split everything 50:50

4. get the lawyers to agree to the split and hand over her share.

5. Never speak to the bitch again.

6. Commence a new and happy life.

Am I the only one who thinks a 50-50 split of assets obtained after marriage does not equate to being "screwed"? And if you don't like that default arrangement, then do a prenuptual.

if you are concerned about being left with nothing if the wife agrees to a divorce and your mother has a sizable estate the i.r.s. allows a one time tax free gift from
parents to each child. i think the amount currectly is
$100,000. check with your tax attorney. you can
keep the ex out of it and you have the use of some of your inheritance immediately. it is easy to do. the money is transfered in a day and it is noted on your next years returns. again check a tax man to make sure it is done right.
