(wembleyguy @ Nov. 29 2007,14:44) Im going to take some photos to attempt a trip report but my digital camera no longer down loads onto my pc, not sure if its the camera or the pc. Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this as im not that experienced with computers.
You can buy a card reader - this is a device that you would put your memory card into from your camera, and then plug into your computer - allowing it to be read and photos transferred without plugging your camera in.
Just be sure the card reader is compatible with the kind of memory your camera uses.
Card readers are not very expensive and can be found in most digital camera shops, and computer shops.
I hired a bike for three days and it was scary , forget the highway code , lanes etc
Its hard enough to cross second road on foot with the kamikazi pilots on bikes
My bike got me around for two weeks recently. First time I rented one. No critikal situations. But I was careful as hell and did not fill more than one or two drinks.
The most dangerous fellows are farang in need for speed. They won't brake, most of Thai drivers will.
Watch out for pale arms, stay away - and you will survive.
I've rented a (small) bike on every trip for years and never had a problem drunk or sober.
But.
I'm very experienced on bikes. DO NOT rent in Pattaya if you're not, it'll kill you.
DO NOT rent a big bike; you won't be going far and you'll be in traffic so you don't need one. Proportionally, most of the fallang accidents are on big bikes. Also, an accident at higher speed is always worse.
When riding, DO NOT sightsee, watch the road (for potholes), watch the traffic (for idiots). Remember that people will pull out in front of you; it's YOUR job to spot and avoid them, not theirs to leave road room for you (TIT after all).
