The picture from high seaview is Karon and the 2 Kata beaches...Patong is overthere..cannot see
You are right on both accounts Andy. Mint is a Jewel and Patong is further down after a large hill. Be careful when taking your motorbike down the hill towards Karon Beach, the BIB like to set up road blocks to check if you have your motoercycle liscense. I got nabbed on a monday which is a day they like to set up on I'm told. They write you out a ticket then go over to a tent they have set up in case it rains. Get in line with a bunch of other farangs and pay 300 baht. I didn't have my liscence, but the next time I was stopped told them my CDL (Commercial DL) covered all vehicles. Which it doesn't but come on a motercycle liscence to drive a scooter?
They also like to set up coming back in to Patong from Karon Beach after 3 or 4 to get people returning from beach.Comment

Nalin at Patong Beach around sunset. Its the most crowded beach in the day time, which spoofs some ladyboys, however it seems like more are going to the beach than I ever remember seeing before. I think they are hearing many farangs telling them they like dark skin. for some its a badge of honour having farangs take them to beach.Comment
