They are also discussing blocking all international travel.
I'll probably never be able to leave again.
Once they put in regulations they never take them off.

Now I also have to pay $2000 for testing and Quarantine when i come back in some internment camp.
Plus having a PCR test 72 hours before i fly back.
They will probably do covid experiments on me in their prison camp.

What a pain, eh? I gave up on travel in the summer. Was gonna go to wpg (drive with brother) but I saw what a hassle Albertans got driving around BC and decided not. Plus my mom is 92 and she is primarily who i would visit.
Speaking to Aum, and phuket is a ghost town for months already. SanFrancisco shut down over a month ago and Mybar3 is now a lynchpin on Soi Sansabi, and that's not saying much.
Hopefully before the end of summer, we will see a corner coming up, to go around, and things will ease up by the fall. I am skeptical anything will change prior to that.

Air Canada still runs cargo in the planes so they probably won't cancel all flights here but if I can't fly to Toronto I can't go.
I should probably just go anyways, just hard to say what will happen here.

I probably couldn't get vaccinated until next year by the way it is going.
If it is just going to be another year of lockdowns here, no point in staying around.
The lockdowns and rules just keep increasing and never seem to go away.
Variant panic is in full force.

If I was able to go somewhere warm and hide for a few months I absolutely would. The civil liberties that have been taken away from us in Canada is utterly disgraceful. We are definitely not in a free society.

This is either going to get better or worse...the numbers will start going down or the new strains will become more prevalent and severe. Either way, getting out of Canada sounds like a good idea to me.

I can't believe the government is forcing the airlines to stop flying to certain places. The aviaton sector has been one of the hardest hit due to covid and they haven't received any type of assistance. The only thing I can think of as to why the airlines agreed to suspend a lot of their routes is that there will finally be a bailout of the aviation industry...why else would they agree to such draconian measures?

As for Regina tower...I'd bet almost anything it stays open. That is pure posturing saying they would close it. But I've been wrong before and if they do close the tower, certainly some of the carriers and some of the old routes will not be around afterwards.

If the airlines agreed too the suspension of flights the Feds must have some sort of 'plan' with them otherwise the airlines and/or unions would be 'screaming bloody murder.' It might be money, deferring or cancelling part of their tax bill, waiving fees at airports where planes are parked, who knows until they make a news release.

If the control tower is shut down it just means aircraft will land without an air controllers assistance much like Kingston, Ontario which I have flown into many times. So visual flight rules will apply. However, the downside is that Q400 will most likely be the largest aircraft that will fly in though smaller jets like CRJs or A319 could also fly in using VFR. Kinda sucks living in a place. that will have a more limited choice in flight options.

2021 will be much more worse than 2020 regarding freedom of movements, authoritarian progressive/liberal/democrat/socialist control. They want to run our lives and tell us what we are permitted to do or not. In the meantime they will capitalize on the 'war' on covid and treat it like any other war that has been fought in the past. Just look at the 'language' they use to describe the 'battle' against covid. Quite militaristic. The first thing that suffers is the truth and unfortunately the media goes right along with the government lies.

My flight is just been confirmed so i'm still good. It was the fourth change so far but my dates stayed the same.
I have to drive to Saskatoon to get a covid test for my flight.

We lost all our flights after 911 then after that we only had Dash-8s.
The flight to Brazil was almost empty just like this flight probably will be.
If they pull out a Dash 8 I will bow out politely.

It seems like totalitarianism is taking over so it will be nice to go to a freer place.
Amazing I don't really consider Canada a free country anymore. We have fallen a notch or two.

Well I did the 6 hour round trip to get my covid test. The temperature was -29C with a -55C windchill and it was whiteout conditions most of the drive.
Then one hour after my test, Air Canada cancelled my return flight.
So I had to book for 1 more month.

Now to wait for the test results tomorrow.

Apparently it would be Carnival this week in Rio but it is cancelled.
I always wanted to check it out.

I got back a negative test. I may have many other diseases but I didn't have covid.

So I have rented an apartment in Copacabana 2 blocks off the beach. $1500 USD per month.
Maybe there is cheaper options later in my stay.

Good for you. I wasn’t sure that you were going to be able to go from the sounds of things.

With the latest authoritarian police state measures coming into affect 22 Feb, courtesy of Fidel Castro-Trudeau, you might as well stay in Brazil and never return to Canuckistan.

Well I am in Copacabana drinking beer at the beach. I'm sweating my ass off, it is great!
I've even been ripped off for some shitty weed already.

Everyone is wearing masks here way more than in Canada. 80% of people outside are wearing masks around Copacabana.

I don't need to go back to Canada any time soon. I got a 90 day multiple entry visa for Brazil. I can stretch it out with some side trips.
